Have known the village for most of my life as parents had a holiday cottage there and my mother later retired to live there. Not too touristy but many tourist destinations within easy reach. Lovely unspoilt village green with the excellent Kings Head pub situated on it. Interesting and ancient church which has important frescoes still visible on one wall. One can walk to Kingham across the fields and over the railway line. This line has regular trains to Oxford and London and can be used for a good day out as well as commuting .

A lovely quirky old pub with strange steep stairways and steps combined with low ceilings all over the place. Our room was quite spacious as was our bathroom. There was loads iof hot water and large bath sheets, along with hand towels. The biggest impression we came away with was how incredibly helpful the staff were. They were polite and courteous, friendly and very helpful and eager to help. We greatly enjoyed our dinner and breakfast, all beautifully presented and served. A really good but oh too short a stay!

Justine the host at The Sheiling was really helpful, advising us on places to visit, places to eat . She was genuinely interested in our itinerary. The shepherds hut is beautifully kept, there’s everything in it that you could possibly need. Everyone we met in the village were friendly and welcoming. The Kings Head pub is about a five minute walk away . The staff are very attentive and the food is excellent . There’s a great outdoor seating area and a dining room, as well as seating in the bar area. I’d recommend it to anyone . The village shop / cafe is volunteer run . There’s just a really nice community feel to the village . We’d definitely be happy to have a return visit to Bledington.

A typical Cotswold village without the tourists.

A typical Cotswold village without the tourists. The village pub was nice with good food at a reasonable price. The village shop/cafe was good for all essential items. Definitely would recommend a car for the area to visit all of the other tourist spots in the cotswolds (if that is the purpose of the visit), although we did see a local bus service which would probably allow onward travel to the bigger towns such as Stow on the Wold or Chipping Norton (we did not check the bus timetables so this is just an assumption). There are no tourist spots to speak of here, more of a jumping off point to other locations. I would probably stay in Bledington again were I to be visiting the Cotswolds

A very quiet Cotswold village.

A very quiet Cotswold village. Apart from the pub, there is a church, a village community cafe and shop and a lot of beautiful thatched stone houses. Good walking area, but you will need a car to get there and tour about. Short drive from both Bourton on the Water and Stow in the Wold.

We stayed here for 3 days. This compact caravan offers privacy and all the comfort you need. Bledington is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. You park in the yard of the friendly owners and there is a typical English pub with dining options within walking distance. The weather was not going well for us. Nevertheless, we had a comfortable stay there
