Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centered on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road heads east to neighboring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also has hotels near the BIC (Bournemouth International Center) in the West Cliff area. This convention center and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon with far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Nearby, there's a Grade I registered historic church, and St. Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of "Frankenstein."
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Center, is Bournemouth Airport.
Scruffy and very tatty. Tents camping on beach littered with rubbish. This used to be a prime seaside town, safe and pleasant to walk out in the evening. My perception is nobody cares about the area, with restaurants and bars littered with dirty glasses and plates.
So sorry it's lost a lot of old world charm due to the untramelled wealth which has moved in. Neither the bus tour nor big wheel were worth the money. The wheel is in the wrong place for a good view and the staff on the bus tour knew nothing of interest nor history. It was an automated commentary with no character. The only stop provided no refreshments nor facilities. The beach and pier are lovely and great fun for families. I like the buzz of young people the university gives it.
Lots of unusual looking shops and good restaurants and an enormous number of high quality hotels near the beach in Bournemouth. I didn’t have any time to explore all the areas of interest. Local people were extremely helpful and kind. Regular buses until late at night to Poole and I’m sure many other areas.
Boscombe Beach was quieter than Bournemouth Beach however both were great. With golden soft sand and the areas were clean made the visits well worth it. Boscombe - quiet, calm, golden sand and great for evening strolls. Bournemouth - busier, lots of amenities, golden sand and great for everyone. The views for both were lovely and I was lucky the weather was absolutely beautiful. Staff at the Bournemouth Beach and local shops were friendly, helpful and genuinely lovely. Parking may be slightly high for some people's budget however I was visiting for work and then spent the next day for me so didn't mind spending. I also drove to the sandbanks.
There is a great bus service throughout Bournemouth and the surrounding area. The car remained parked for the holiday and we took trips out on the local service. There are lots of places to eat and plenty of entertainment. Lots of shops with something for everyone Never been before but will be going back.
I used Bournemouth for my base as I was visiting family in area. Used local buses to Poole with ease daily. Hotel was ideally situated for all of my needs. I walked the beach and pier after breakfast each morning and enjoyed the restaurants when I was not visiting family. The beach was clean and sand soft , perfect for families with children and sandcastles ! Plenty of restaurants to suit every pocket. Local buses run very frequently to many destinations in and around Bournemouth and beyond. Well worth a visit
Bournemouth
The location is amazing for trips into Bournemouth town centre and the beaches, with parking - which is a bonus. Staff were great, very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. The room and whole hotel is very clean and smelt so fresh when we arrived, it was lovely. I was a little sceptical not to have a cooked breakfast option, but the full continental, with cooked eggs, ham, cheese, croissants, pastries etc surpassed our expectations. Would definately visit again.
This hotel is very handy for shops, eateries, parks and beach and is very accessible by car being close to main roads. Paid parking is available too in a secure carpark. Staff were always very helpful and cheerful, which was good as I had my adult autistic grandchild in tow and any negativity is picked up. Staff were very helpful too finding us a quiet corner for breakfast. So a lovely overnight stay for us both. It is good they have a jacuzzi and small swimming pool
Bournemouth
The location is near to the beach, the view from the building yard towards the sea is beautiful, the apartment is lovely and clean, the kitchen is well equipped, the parking space is covered and strategically located, grocery stores is nearby. I think we will be happy to stay here again when we visit Bournemouth. Just a little friendly suggestion: it will be even wonderful if we can also have extra trash bags and toiletries, especially when we stay multiple days..
Stayed here to attend the Bournemouth air festival. Perfect location minutes from the beach and sitting outside at the bar looking down on the evenings firework display was a wonderful end to an amazing day. Hotel was very clean and staff very helpful so what more could anyone ask? The hotel has huge potential and if the tired rooms were refreshed the sky’s the limit for this ‘could be perfect’ hotel. And yes we would certainly stay again.
Everything at the hotel was amazing from the staff on reception, in the bar and at breakfast, nothing was too much trouble, the bars had a great atmosphere and the rooms were very roomy, the jacuzzi bath was awesome, brilliant location with the beach and attractions 5 mins away well worth the stay and at a good price to will definitely visit again highly recommend this place for anyone visiting bournemouth
good distinction from the beach and city centre. breakfast was excellent- full English breakfast buffet, really nice. we would like to say Thank you for the girl on reception. the was so helpful and kind. ( we don’t know her name but we know she is from Brazil). i booked wrong days and notice about it when arrived but she sorted the problem. when I going to Bournemouth I will stay the same hotel again.
Beautiful hotel, I like the vintage feel, isn't to flashy - doesn't make an average man feel out of place, comfortable, good for working away or leisure - price is fair, staff are polite, helpful - location is a short walk from alot of good venues, beaches, restaurants. My go to place of rest when in Bournemouth.
This is a great find, really good value, great location near the beach and Bournemouth International Centre. Lovely big room, big bathroom with a bath. Litlke lobby inside the door with space to unpack and store luggage. Free WiFi in the room, contrary to what it says on the hotel details. Vey helpful, accommodating staff.
this boutique hotel near to Bournemouth beach was very personal. a warm welcome and staff couldn’t do enough for you. my husband is coeliac and was catered for really well. have stayed in many hotels in the area this is by far amongst the top. decor is lovely and only 5 mins by car to seafront and theatres
Hotel and staff were delightful🤗. Delicious afternoon tea with the best selection of vegetarian sandwiches I've ever had 😋. Room was excellent 😍. Spa treatments were relaxing and you got the full 60mins 😁 not at all rushed, and the relaxation room was pure indulgence 😌
A really nice, smaller hotel. We liked the style of the interior a lot. Close to the beach and everything. Staff was very friendly. We have enjoyed our stay there and we will definitely try to stay there when we come to Bournemouth again.
Apartment was spacious, ability to prepare and store snacks . The location was excellent for beach and to walk to Westbourne and Bournemouth. Did not eat food at hotel so could no comment. But drinks at bar good
The hotel is in am excellent location, close to the beach, pier and the central Bournemouth facilities.
Good location close to the seafront and hotel was well presented and decorated.
One of the best hotels in Bournemouth for the price we paid with great location
