I have been visiting Bournemouth over many years, and like many other seaside towns it is beginning to look tired and worn out. The high street has a number of empty shops, and many of the hotels need refurbishment on the exterior. Visiting during the winter is bound to give a false impression of the beach area, because the winter storms have dumped sand onto the promenade, and the tides have taken a lot of the sand away. I think the decline will continue unless Bournemouth Council appoints a dynamic person with foreword thinking ideas, which will provide for a large area for children to play indoors in inclement weather, but will have a sliding roof on warm sunny days. Bournemouth needs to be a place where families want to take longer summer holidays, but can enjoy short breaks in the autumn, winter and spring. Perhaps they should seek advice from someone from Centre Parcs or similar organisations. Despite my remarks, on lovely summer days Bournemouth is still a very nice place to be. The airshow in August is well worth seeing.
Visited Aruba on the pier. Good food, value for money. During our stay though it did take a while for our food to come. Also visited 7bone. By far the best burger I have ever tasted! Just absolutely beautiful! Staff were welcoming and courteous and understanding when we needed more time to decide on what to have as it all sounded so great! Would go back in a heartbeat!
Loved the location, the food was superb at the Marriott hotel, we had afternoon tea, dinner in our room & breakfast downstairs was amazing. Literally stepped outside and was on Bournemouth beach, a few minutes walk from BIC, aquarium, Bournemouth shops. Had so much nearby the hotel, lots of restaurants. What was even better was the weather, it was 23rd January & the sun was shining on us, it was lovely to be able to take a nice stroll along the beach wearing just my jumper jeans and a lightweight scarf in January, took loads of photos and just really had a truly wonderful time. I live in Bournemouth, have lived in Bournemouth for over 3 years so I know all the sites and best places to eat out etc We stayed at the Marriott as it was my friends birthday and I wanted to surprise my friend to a one night stay in a twin sea view room and my friend was so impressed, we both were impressed by how amazing this hotel is. My friend didn't want to go back home to London, we both were sad to leave this superb hotel but we shall be returning very soon probably in the summer for a few nights.
Bournemouth has something for everyone, young and old. Our favourite eating place for a treat is The Mandarin Chinese restaurant but there are plenty of other nice places to choose from. It is easy to get around, either by bus or in a car and there are plenty of car parks in the area.
The hotel was in a great location for a visit to all types of cuisine. Good to walk to and from. Love the Russell Coates museum. We went for a couples pamper weekend and the spa in our hotel was brill. Good therapists. Nothing to avoid as Bournemouth is a good all round place to visit.
Great beach walks and lovely walks through the Winter Gardens watching the friendly squirrels. I used the spa facilities at the hotel 😀 Great shopping centre. Ate at Moon on the Square by Weatherspoons....great service even though they were busy.
This is a fantastic little gem of a hotel!! Perfectly located away from the hustle and bustle of the promenade, but close enough to soak up the sights within a 5 min walk. Spotlessly clean and tidy, friendly staff and nice rooms. The price was my favourite part, we paid £37 for a Friday night and felt it was incredible value for money.
The location was excellent! Right next to the beach. The TV was good for watching telly in bed and the hotel provided us with our room request. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Even thou the tap water in the bathroom wasn't drinking water - the bar will fill up your water bottles for free.
Everything was absolutely perfect. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was great, very kind and helpful. And the location of the hotel is amazing. Close to the bus, to the beach, to the pier and to the gardens. I can recommend it.

Free chocolate samples! 😜 They had a lovely self service bar, which we enjoyed. The rooms were tastefully decorated. Great location.
Dual aspect room with sea view. Newly decorated and modern without being so 'on trend' it makes you feel intimidated.
The staff throughout the Hotel are exceptional, helpful, friendly and patient. The Covid arrangements were impeccable.
