The Christmas lights were great to see in December. It is a multicultural centre with a wide range of different food outlets offering everything from smorgabords to persian food to eastern curries. The Victorian architecture dating from its heyday during the boom years of the cloth trade and industrial revolution is good to look at, especially the classic magnificent Town Hall. It has excellent transport links and is well placed for walking in the Pennine hills.
I was born in Bradford 1953, and it has changed dramatically.: For the worst! Most of the white British people i knew who lived in Bradford have now moved away. I was visiting fiends in Guiseley and Yeadon. There are some nice outlying areas like Baildon and Saltaire
Quite accessible to many shops... have to say the food places to eat in are amazing! I have a few favourites .... jinnah being definitely one of them ! The dessert places were amazing .... heavenly desserts and vanilla rooms is my favourite! My favourite breakfast places are regals and the patisserie, with a variety of english/ south Asian breakfasts. If I had more time, I would have ventured on some countryside walks with a picnic, nice day out for a family. If you love jewellery and fancy shawls and footwear.... the bazaars are good and there are many of them around and you can pick up a good bargain. Quite a busy place but so much south asian culture to experience.
My boyfriend and myself always stay at this hotel. I really love how welcoming and helpful the staff are. The reason we only choose to stay at trivelles is because they have access to a lot of things that other hotels don’t. The street is very peaceful and quite, there is a lot of local shops very close to the hotel so you won’t have to travel far for food and accessories. We can not recommend this hotel enough. The hotel is always immaculate.
We did not go into the towns due to Covid 19. Local pub very relaxed about the guidelines and apart from note on door and separate entrances you would never guess anything amiss as everyone mixing freely.
When I came to Bradford I was not sure what to make of it. So came in with an open mind and made a point to explore Bradford while I was there and try to get to know the town and the people. I came to Bradford primarily for a training provider to try and gain licences needed for future employment opportunities. As for the town centre while it had some interesting historical monuments and stuff that told me a lot about the city. There was on the flip side abandoned buildings and people with substance abuse issues that kind of let down the image of Bradford. I made a point to interact with the locals whenever possible and people told me more or less the same thing that it is a "has been" city. From the local taxi drivers that live and work in Bradford telling me that they spend their money in the neighbouring cities like Leeds. To the locals that works at the train station. Stories like businesses leaving Bradford since and because of the riots of 2001 and it needing investment left a lasting impression. Although there was some people that gave me a positive view of Bradford. Perhaps I was born in the wrong time where I missed the hay day of Bradford. There is a mixed demographic of people for those that are into the "diversity" thing and for the most part Bradford accents is easier to understand. I could not tell if I was in the good or bad parts of Bradford most of the time. But for the time I spent up there I did enjoy my stay. It is easy to get around with access to public transport, taxis and roads to neighbouring towns.
Really friendly, helpful staff at check in. Room was clean and very spacious. There are loads of facilities on site although we didnt use most of them as we were only there for one night. The "light" breakfast actually had a huge selection to choose from, set us up for the day. Good value place to stay.
