Located in Brampton, 15 miles from Carlisle, Lanercost Country B&B provides a shared lounge and free WiFi. What a fantastic stay. Our host was wonderful, full of knowledge and recommendations, and a joy to chat with. Our room was beautiful-spacious, clean and comfortable, and the roll top bath was a real luxury. Breakfast was incredible. Thank you, we’ll hopefully be back again soon!
Located in Brampton, the Grade II listed family-run Scotch Arms Mews Bed & Breakfast features 7 rooms with attached bathroom. We needed to check in early to go to a wedding and Dianne was extremely accommodating, making sure our room was ready hours early and on hand to help us when we arrived. The property is lovely with lots of charm, the room were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

Nice and cosy apartment with good facilities. Very friendly host. Shops and food outlets within walking distance.
Brampton Holiday Cottage is located in Brampton. The property is 26 miles from Penrith. I liked that it was a whole house, it was decorated well and had all that we needed for our stay. The courtyard is really cute too. Brampton itself was a lovely town too - I expected to hear traffic noise in the morning as the house is in the middle of town, but it was really quiet. I really liked the church bells too - a really relaxing break.

A good place to stay and visit the western side of the Roman wall. Birdoswald, Housteads and Vindolanda forts are all within easy reach, and the recommended route (not the A69) is a good, fast road with great scenery and few other vehicles (Tuesday and Wednesday at end of July in gorgeous weather). Lots to see in the area. I stayed in Talkin village just outside Brampton - it was lovely. And there is a tarn close by which has water activities facilities. I ate breakfast and dinner at my accommodation (The Blacksmiths Arms), and the food was both good and tasty. For lunch, I ate at Lanercost Priory. Really nice tea-room serving good food. There is even a separate room for those with dogs. The priory and its church are both worth a visit.
It was one of our best weekends, we would go back again. The location is near to Hadrian’s wall and North Pennies. It is a perfect base to culture and hiking/walking. Spectacular waterfall, viaduct amazed us. The village is very calm, quiet, so many walking paths cross it. Pretty steam railway station gives an opportunity to discover the area by train as well. The accommodation was in a lovely farmhouse. The owners, Norma and Colin welcomed us very warmly. They gave us lot of good advices and ideas what worth to visit. The room was very nice and neat. We could sleep and relax perfectly. We had delicious dinner and great service. I highly recommend this accommodation for everyone.
Lovely old town great deli very easy to walk around. Nearby priory worth a visit and of course Hadrian’s Wall. We did see people walking the length of the wall having their luggage forwarded to their next stop. Would definitely recommend and would like to return there.
Brampton, Market town. Ideal location for exploring. The town itself, has two Spars, and CO-OP for your daily supplies. There are two Pubs, both look great. Antiques shop and a handful of smaller shops. The Howards Arms, was ideal for us. The food was excellent, lovely pub. For me it was outstanding, as they offer a very wide range of gluten free options. There is also an outstanding restaurant / takeaway called the star anise. If your exploring hadrian's wall, and the Northern borders, ideal location to be based at.
Nice location to explore Hadrians Wall and surrounding area...but Brampton left us a bit cold... has potential but needs a couple of nice places to eat... 2 of the.3 pubs don't do decent food and the one that did was closed due to covid outbreak... we had to get in the car and go out to eat which meant one of us driving each night. We went to nearby pub at Castle Carrock called Duke of Cumberland...worth a visit but stops serving food at 8.30. Also a great Greek in Carlisle called Alexandros. Lanercost Priory worth a visit.
Brampton is tiny. The Isle of Skye is really for those who wish to escape the hurly burly so if you want peace and quiet, this is the place. There is an inn and a very upmarket lodge hotel in the village but our accommodation was a few miles away on the other side of the main through road so you couldn't walk there. The Brampton Inn gets my vote. The food was good and the place had a good atmosphere.
Quaint cottage comfortable and cosy especially with the log fire blazing. Very peaceful with beautiful relaxing scenery of fields and hills. plenty of walks to go on and very near the village of Brampton which has all the shops and takeaways you need. Lovely hosts that made sure you have everything you need and would answer any questions needed. Our dog loved running around their empty field and sniffing round the garden. Very relaxing holiday, just what we wanted.
I chose this accommodation as we were walking Hadrian's Wall and it was close to our route. We stayed in a number of locations along the way and this one was definitely my favourite. Deborah was a very welcoming host and the hotel was delightful. I thoroughly recommend the fabulous bath in 'The Duck Room' to sooth away aches and pains after a long day's walk. The home cooking was delicious and we were sad we could not have stayed longer.
The cottages are a home from home. Clean & Tidy. No noise. Large car park area. Dog friendly. Great base to organize walks & trips. Brampton is 10mins away by car which has shops, local butchers, Pubs etc. Sam & Helena are really nice people. There was a welcome pack of coffee, tea & biscuits and milk in the fridge when we arrived which is always a bonus after a long journey. Would definitely book again.
This bed and breakfast is a little off the beaten track - you'll be glad of a satnav or navigation to find the place. That said, it is only a few miles from Brampton and incredibly convenient if you are visiting Carlisle or Hadrian's Wall. Sheila and Brian are lovely. We chatted about local areas of interest and they helped me find a local laundry. I enjoyed their home-cooked breakfast too.
All meals worthy of the two rosettes awarded. Hotel and gardens beautiful, rooms clean, comfortable and quiet, impressive attention to detail, staff professional and friendly. Here the customer was considered king and the focus was clearly on quality and definitely warranted the cost of the stay.
Very friendly hosts couldn’t do enough to make our visit very welcoming and enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Hotel was spotlessly clean and had loads of little added perks for guests. Would highly recommend
Set in a lovely hamlet, close to Brampton, it was a very peaceful location with a lovely little garden. The beds were the most comfortable I've experienced and the host was very helpful.
What a lovely little cottage. Spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and was very well presented in a perfect location to enjoy Brampton.
Charming BnB with delightful staff. Located in the center of Brampton. Good food at the pub.
The hotel was fairly good, with obliging staff.
