Brampton Holiday Homes - The Mews Apartment enjoys a location in Brampton, just 10 miles from Thirlwall Castle and 17 miles from Housesteads Roman Fort. Host Dianne was really helpful and made my family and I feel very welcome during our stay. Brampton is a quaint little historic market town with lost of historical buildings. Picturesque views out of town, and wonderful places to visit. Nice to get outdoors and meet people, after being in Lockdowns.
Brampton Holiday Cottage is located in Brampton, 31 miles from Askham Hall, 10 miles from Thirlwall Castle, and 17 miles from Housesteads Roman Fort. This property offers access to darts and free... I liked that it was a whole house, it was decorated well and had all that we needed for our stay. The courtyard is really cute too. Brampton itself was a lovely town too - I expected to hear traffic noise in the morning as the house is in the middle of town, but it was really quiet. I really liked the church bells too - a really relaxing break.

It was one of our best weekends, we would go back again. The location is near to Hadrian’s wall and North Pennies. It is a perfect base to culture and hiking/walking. Spectacular waterfall, viaduct amazed us. The village is very calm, quiet, so many walking paths cross it. Pretty steam railway station gives an opportunity to discover the area by train as well. The accommodation was in a lovely farmhouse. The owners, Norma and Colin welcomed us very warmly. They gave us lot of good advices and ideas what worth to visit. The room was very nice and neat. We could sleep and relax perfectly. We had delicious dinner and great service. I highly recommend this accommodation for everyone.
Lovely old town great deli very easy to walk around. Nearby priory worth a visit and of course Hadrian’s Wall. We did see people walking the length of the wall having their luggage forwarded to their next stop. Would definitely recommend and would like to return there.
Brampton, Market town. Ideal location for exploring. The town itself, has two Spars, and CO-OP for your daily supplies. There are two Pubs, both look great. Antiques shop and a handful of smaller shops. The Howards Arms, was ideal for us. The food was excellent, lovely pub. For me it was outstanding, as they offer a very wide range of gluten free options. There is also an outstanding restaurant / takeaway called the star anise. If your exploring hadrian's wall, and the Northern borders, ideal location to be based at.
Nice location to explore Hadrians Wall and surrounding area...but Brampton left us a bit cold... has potential but needs a couple of nice places to eat... 2 of the.3 pubs don't do decent food and the one that did was closed due to covid outbreak... we had to get in the car and go out to eat which meant one of us driving each night. We went to nearby pub at Castle Carrock called Duke of Cumberland...worth a visit but stops serving food at 8.30. Also a great Greek in Carlisle called Alexandros. Lanercost Priory worth a visit.
Brampton is tiny. The Isle of Skye is really for those who wish to escape the hurly burly so if you want peace and quiet, this is the place. There is an inn and a very upmarket lodge hotel in the village but our accommodation was a few miles away on the other side of the main through road so you couldn't walk there. The Brampton Inn gets my vote. The food was good and the place had a good atmosphere.
Lovely town, small and perfect. with lots to do in the area. a perfect base with an amazing pub restaurant in the middle. and a number of antique and vintage shops. Gorgeous place, with cafes, walks, and a general laidback feel.
We were self catering. Location was off piste in beautiful surroundings for walking. Hosts were very inviting and helpful with an interesting history of their own. Peacocks and Guinea Fowl provided entertainment....when bribed with host's provided treats !!! Central to Hadrian's Wall in either direction with several amazing heritage sites and walks within easy reach. NB. Greenhead Hotel = excellent food, value and decor for lunch or early dinner.
The cottages are a home from home. Clean & Tidy. No noise. Large car park area. Dog friendly. Great base to organize walks & trips. Brampton is 10mins away by car which has shops, local butchers, Pubs etc. Sam & Helena are really nice people. There was a welcome pack of coffee, tea & biscuits and milk in the fridge when we arrived which is always a bonus after a long journey. Would definitely book again.

The Scotch Arms Mews was such a wonderful hotel. The host Diane was so lovely, and so gave us many recommendations of places to visit and to eat. The hotel was very clean, extremely covid secure and all rooms well equipped with everything you'd need. The breakfast was very generous. We so enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

We were 2 friends walking the Hadrian's wall. As we had our own transport, the property was in a good, rural position, yet close to Brampton where we had our evening meals. The property was clean and comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. It met all our expectations
This golden nugget is a secret gem of a place. The staff were exceptional, the food was amazing and the room and hotel was immaculate. It is more than value for money and I will be going back.
Nice country hotel with very friendly owners. Very clean. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommend.
