We needed a place to stay after a long day. We had a very nice welcome and shown to our rooms which were spotless. We had a fabulous and much needed dinner and our hosts were very attentive and focused on making our stay amazing. I discovered a home away from home and will return on my next travels. Thanks for a great stay.
A very small hamlet, well placed as a base for exploring Bath, Chippenham, Cirencester, Swindon etc. The Horse Guards in Brokenborough is an excellent place to stay with well appointed large modern rooms, and a very good restaurant. It provides a wonderful taste of village life and is well placed for exploring the locality by car.
We could only manage an overnight stay while attending a ruby wedding celebration nearby but Brokenborough seems to be a central base for visiting this interesting part of the country. We will definitely go back.
The Horse Guards is a lovely rural public house set in a tranquil hamlet. The food is very good- we had a light meal there in the evening and breakfast was superb. Everyone was friendly & respectful of privacy. Brokenborough is a quiet location but close to road networks into Gloucestershire/ Wiltshire/Tetbury/Westonbirt et al. We live near Bath so are familiar with many local treasures, we had attended a large family function at nearby Chatcott Manor and required a nearby place to stay.
