Cairnryan
This 4 Star Visit Scotland bed and breakfast is a 2-minute drive from ferry ports with crossings to Belfast, Larne and Cairnryan. Free parking and complimentary Wi-Fi is available at this property. We had an early ferry to catch and Pat prepared a takeaway breakfast which was very welcome. Pat is a lovely friendly host and we would not hesitate in returning and recommending her to friends. The room and bathroom are spotless.
Cairnryan
Rhins of Galloway offers high-quality accommodations in a garden setting overlooking Loch Ryan. It is located between the ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan, and offers free on-site parking. The location was excellent, and convenient for the ferry to Ireland. The suite we had was spacious and comfortable with good furniture and a very nice large bathroom. There was no noise from outside or inside the building. Breakfast was very good and generous. The hosts went out of their way to be helpful and friendly.

Kirkcolm (Near Cairnryan)
Set in Kirkcolm, 7.5 mi from Portpatrick, Wigbay Loch View 28 offers a restaurant and free WiFi. Great location and a really nice caravan site, lovely loch views, well equipped caravan. Sofa needs to be replaced, old, stained and smelly. Decking needs a deep clean, completely green from algae and outdoors furniture is extremely rusty.

The Caravan site is Beautiful, can't fault it at all, everywhere is impeccably clean, Staff can't do enough for you, Caravan Beautiful, beds very comfortable, loved my first visit to Scotland and loved Stranrare.
Leswalt (Near Cairnryan)
Located in Leswalt, 12 mi from Portpatrick, Oor wee hoose features a restaurant and free WiFi. Great property. Excellent value for money. Very close to Cairnryan port for travelling to Belfast
As we were only staying over the one night, and having travelled from Liversedge in Yorkshire, it was important that the accommodation was right and the eating places in and around Cairnryan were right and they were - 10 out of 10 We ate on the recommendation of our hosts at "Henry's" restaurant between Cairnryan and Stranrare which was was excellent.
Cairnryan is a delightful place with easy access to both the P & O and Stena ferries to Ireland. Stranraer is close by for shopping. It is an excellent place to stay while waiting to board the ferry, after landing or using it as a base for seeing Southern Scotland.
The location is great, especially for access to the ferry ports. We visited Logan Botanic Gardens, Glenwhan Gardens and Castle Kennedy which are all within a short drive from Cairnryan. We had a lovely meal at Henry's Bay House restaurant in Stranraer. Also had a nice snack from Subway in Stranraer and delicious soup with home made bread at Glenwhan Gardens. Would avoid trying to find somewhere to eat in Stranraer town as there are few restaurants that looked appealing.
It was where we caught the ferry to Ireland and if ever going again I would definitely use Cairnryan. We used a restaurant by the name of Henry’s Bay 10 mins away and it was very nice would recommend they did a teatime special that was excellent value for money and the staff were very attentive. The route to Ayr from Cairmryan has a beautiful coast way and well worth a drive to. There were some breathtaking views.
Cairnryan sits on the side of Loch Ryan and is therefore one sided. The village is 10-15 minutes from Stranraer which has plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants. As a touring base or a stopover for the ferry Cairnryan is ideal but if you want nightlife that’s out. We ate in Henry’s Bay House Restaurant which is very good. As for activities for young couples my wife and I are 73 and 70 years young so no advice on that. On the other side of the loch there are quite a few nice beaches within a 12 mile drive but take a picnic. As stated above touring is ideal. Portpatrick and the Mull of Galloway are well worth a visit in fine weather, as are Castle Kennedy and Logan gardens. The picture is taken from Cairnryan Bed and Breakfast.
The whole experience was made easy by the friendliness of all. The only problem I had was it was too short. I would have liked to have been able to stay for a few days. But was unable to do so because of the nature of my travel reason.
Cairnryan
We stayed to catch early morning ferry from Cairnryan to larne. It was a last minute booking due to unexpected change of travel plans. We were late getting to Scotland and checking in as we had never made journey and we had been at work on the day. Pat was so lovely about this and accommodating. Room was so comfy and we had a really good sleep which I didn’t expect as we got there so late and up so early. Location could literally be no closer to the p and o port.
Cairnryan
Outside does not do this place justice. Inside is like 5 star hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Only 5 mins from Ferry.
