the location of the hotel was 100% perfect as we were a family of four attending our daughters graduation at Canterbury Cathedral. We were able to reserve two parking spaces outside the hotel in the Cathedral grounds and it made the whole day perfect.

Property was close to the main locations in Canterbury. When you walk up the Main Street with all the shops and restaurant maade a right turn and hotel was there. It was like a 12 minutes walk from Canterbury East station. The staff were very pleasant and breakfast was included if you wanted it. Room was very clean and comfortable.

Canterbury’s religious and historic significance has inspired literary greatness. Chaucer’s ‘Canterbury Tales’ were based on pilgrimages to the bygone shrine of Thomas A Becket, who was murdered here. The Marlowe Theatre is named after the 16th-century playwright born here, and the Canterbury Museum has an exhibit on Rupert Bear, whose author lived in this River Stour city.
River cruises and punting provide fantastic views of the striking weavers’ houses right on the water, and of Westgate - the UK’s largest city gate. Other sections of the city walls remain, and there are also ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey, named after the 6th-century saint who brought Christianity to England. He was the first Archbishop of Canterbury, but the modern-day seat is the UNESCO World Heritage-listed cathedral, dating to the 12th century.
From the same period are the Norman castle ruins, occupying the site of a wooden fort constructed by William the Conqueror. The mound they sit on in Dane John Gardens is thought to be a Roman cemetery, and an original mosaic is visible in the Roman Museum.
In the Buttermarket half-timbered houses and historic inns are interspersed with shops, and big name brands line the Whitefriars Shopping Centre. The Canterbury accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels with swimming pools, cheap hostels and city centre B&Bs.

We went to the Cathedral. Well worth the entrance fee. There is more to see than just the main cathedral. Walk the riverside walk. Roam the side streets as well.
It is a small city easy to walk around. Plenty of eating places to suit all budgets.

From all the places I visited in the Kent county, Canterbury...
From all the places I visited in the Kent county, Canterbury was the most captivating city.
The city centre is built surrounding a huge cathedral, with many shops and cafes/restaurants/pubs around it. I visited the city on a Saturday morning, and up to the evening it seemed quite lively. The way the blocks are irregularly placed around the cathedral makes it more interesting to explore and walk around (think of it as an opposite to Milton Keynes blocks). The roads in the centre were made of cobblestones and a bit restricted to cars (they can drive through tho), which allows for large groups of people to circulate around it.
I definitely recommend it to those who would enjoy a visit into the Canterbury Cathedral, which is incredible. There also happened to be a medieval pageant event going on, which made it even more fascinating!

The hotel was ideally placed in the midst of the busy town centre. There are a variety of shops, bars, restaurants, bakeries, nail bars and other tourist attractions including the cathedral (recommend a visit) with its beautiful grounds and gardens, the river for boat rides, a large park close by. Only a short walk to Canterbury East train station. Would recommend the restaurant Pinocchio, a lovely Italian diner with a wide choice of food, a specials board and very friendly, helpful staff.

We found Canterbury an easy walkable city with lots of enjoyable walking options. Our walk in Westgate Gardens along the river was lovely and relaxing. We had tried earlier in the day to walk the ramparts but we couldn’t find any access points as we were strolling around, so we eventually gave up.
There are loads of takeaway options in Canterbury to choose from.
It would be so great if some of the tourist sites were open later during the spring and summer when the days are longer.

I spent a lot of time in the cathedral, it is very interesting and the guided tour for five pounds was excellent. The city is charming with lots of interesting buildings.
I ate at The Cosy Club which has good food, pleasant staff and an especially good miso based pudding. The Chapter Pizza restaurant was very good as well. Both restaurants are very reasonably priced.
The cottage was very clean and tidy and had free parking. We arrive at 10:00 on the Friday night, after a 5 hour journey, to be greeted by the lovely Brian, who made us feel very welcome. The property is situated close to the centre of Canterbury so we could walk into town easily (10 mins). The property had everything we needed for our short stay. The garden at the back the hotel has a lovely seating area. We would definitely stay again.
The staff was amazing and so helpful. I had all my bridal party staying at the hotel and they went above and beyond. The breakfast was amazing (continental buffet -pastries were so yummy- and a nice selection of cooked breakfast on top). The location is great (4mn walk from Canterbury West and 3mn walk from the old city/city centre). The rooms are so comfy (bath in the bathroom and beds are the comfiest I've slept in, in a while)
The hotel is comfortable and easy to find, and provide an extremely nice breakfast. The lovely centre of Canterbury is approx 12 minutes walk and very easy access The manager provided a good nap to use, but thus wasn’t really needed. There is a small car park attached to the hotel, but you may need to park elsewhere if it is full. We didn’t use the pool, but it looks lovely
Lovely refurbished hotel. Ten minute walk into city centre so easily accessible to shops and restaurants. Staff very accommodating. Good reasonably priced food served in on site restaurant and comfortable bar area.
The location was ideal for our visit to Canterbury. Only a couple of miles out so very handy for the city centre. The location was in a secluded countryside area with lots of land to walk our dogs.
