Cellardyke, being close to Anstruther and its facilities, is an ideal holiday location. Would recommend "The Haven" beside Cellardyke Harbour and the "Wee Chippy" in Anstruther, which, we think, is as good, if not better than the over-hyped "Anstruther Fish Bar".
Wonderful fishing village with a working harbour and a marina for pleasure craft. Waterfront bars tea rooms and a couple of restaurants. The fishing museum is an absolute must and there is a very well renowned fish & chip establishment
Along with others that have given a poor review, We were shown into an "annex" room in a house down the road that was not of the same quality as the rooms shown on the booking.com site. Ours was equivalent to student or staff accommodation. If I was to go back I would only do so if I was to be in the main building shown in the website
Cellardyke is a cute place ut streets are very narrow and holdups occur as when cars are parked only one car can pass. If staying in rented accomm parking would be a nightmare. Three families previously stayed in a large property and had to park an inconvenient distance away. Once you have found a parking spot you will be reluctant to move your car
Cellardyke/Anstruther are old fishing ports with good history and lovely old buildings. As it's on the coastal route there are excellent safe walks along the seashore with lots of small beaches. Anstruther is famous for its fish and chips, there are ample places to eat and drink many specialize in sea food, fish, prawns, crab and lobster are all available. A few good character pubs not the big franchises. Boat trips are available from the pier. A lovely place for a few days.
A lovely village adjacent to Anstruther with all its facilities. A great place to wander around, admire the buildings and the sea views. A gem of a place. There are plenty of places to eat including the Haven in Cellardyke itself. Lots of great walks as well.
Great shower, comfortable bed and amazing staff. We have booked again.
