Featuring a private pool and garden views, West Cottage, Cerne Abbas Lane is located in Piddletrenthide, 8.1 mi from Dorchester. Free WiFi is available. Everything! The garden (with stream, woodland, pool and tennis court), the decor, the beautiful location....I could go on. Lucy was great, she's done a wonderful job of doing up the cottage. This really is a little piece of paradise.
Set in Dorchester, 28 mi from Poole, Gaggle of Geese Pub & Shepherd Huts offers a restaurant and free WiFi. The units have a fully equipped kitchenette with a fridge, kettle, and a toaster. What's not to like?! A beautiful setting, family friendly and wonderful hosts, we had a brilliant stay at the Gaggle of Geese. We're really looking forward to visiting again, and will be recommending to our friends. Thank you to all the team at the Gaggle (and Aggie!).
This is a beautiful village with loads of lovely walks on the doorstep. It has 3 pubs and a cafe, so no need to go hungry or thirsty. The locals are super friendly and very helpful. Very dog friendly.
Cerne Abbas is a hidden gem - absolutely amazing countryside and lovely village. The walking is immense - previously we had just done the obvious jaunt up to Cerne's Giant, but this time we found many walks to other places all starting from Cerne. The scenery is untouched and exquisite. We ate at the Royal Oak that was amazing and we heard from other people that food at the New Inn was also superb.
Cerne Abbas is steeped in history. Lovely abbey and ruins also three pubs to choose from. Walking through the village to the duck pond is a walk back in time. Not forgetting the Cerne giant with his very large profile!!!
Cerne Abbas is magical, beautiful, peaceful, spiritual. Would highly recommend a visit. Gorgeous walks around rolling hills, pretty streams, the Cerne Giant, St. Mary’s Church, St. Augustine’s Well. Great food & drink in the local taverns.
A pretty Dorset village with a range of shops, pubs as well as the chalk Giant. Ideally situated to visit Dorset -- both down to the coast (Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle, Studland etc) as well as nearby villages such as Tolpuddle, Milton Abbas etc. If you are staying at the New Inn (highly recommended) ask for their local walking maps.
The hosts! And had a great stay overall
