Waltham Abbey (Near Cheshunt)
Waltham Abbey Private Property is set in Waltham Abbey and offers a restaurant and a garden. There was nothing that I liked about this property. It was an awful experience from the second we arrived After travelling 38 hrs we were not able to use the property as it had not been cleaned and bedding changed and had to sit and wait for the cleaner to do a quick clean. The property should be thoroughly cleaned before new guests arrive. One the reasons for selecting your property was the washing machine which we found is mouldy and didn’t work!
Beautiful nature reserve to spend hours walking or cycling around. You can do fishing here too at designated areas. Wildlife spotting was fantastic. You can book to open water swim at the Young Mariners at Cheshunt lake, which I highly recommend.
A bland commuter town with little sense of community or civic pride but a lot of friendly people all the same. A fantastic nature area around the Lea Valley gives this place the ideal location for walking and bird-watching, dog-walking and trips with children.
Can't believe they hire out a room next a boiler that vibrates into action every 30 minutes. Bed was directly against the wall of the boiler and I am a light sleeper. By the time I had figured out what the noise was it was 1am, too late to move rooms. Got about one hours sleep the whole night, made all the worse as I had specifically book a hotel room to get a decent nights sleep prior to a really tough week. Complained angrily next morning but have only had one missed called from the hotel. Not happy - hope no-one else gets that room.
Went to a close by pub/ restaurant for dinner called the Crocodile, wouldn't rate it that much. Me and my partner turned up at about 8.30 for dinner and at 8.45 they started playing really loud music and they're were a lot of noisy people in there getting drunk. I wouldn't of minded but we only went in there for a quiet dinner and it felt like we were in a nightclub. They could of waited until we had finished eating to turn the music up!
I came for a birthday trip to see 'The Little Shop of Horrors.' It is an ideal location for access into London. The hotel was excellent, as was the service. Breakfast was brilliant, wonderful selection.
