The City was lovely, so pretty, with a complete city wall which we walked around (two miles). Shopping area lovely, especially The Rows, and nice places to eat. A day at the famous Zoo nearby is a must!
We had a girly few days, retail therapy, eating out and taking in a few of the nice bars and all available to be done on foot as so easy to get around from our wonderful accommodation. Need to have a return trip to take in some of the more cultural sites the city has to offer, so dates to be organised for next time. Lots of lovely places to eat, booking preferable if early in the week breaks as a few places closed in the evenings but then it is November now. Lovely and so much more to discover
Came to Chester to visit Zoo and see all conservation work as a follow-up to television series. We ate lunch at Bembe Kitchen and tried the street food on Lantern walk at the Zoo. Walking the city wall, enjoying cathedral and wandering was fun. We ate dinner at Cote, lunch at Urbano 32, both restaurants are in Bridge street.
Beautiful ity, easy to get around, lots of options for dinni g out and going for drinks, one of the best live music/ro k bars I have been to and don't forget the beautiful architecture and Roman remains : just watch out for the weekend hen dos
Chester is a beautiful city with plenty of bars and restaurants. We booked how restaurants before we got there to avoid not getting in anywhere and found different bars in areas we haven’t been before.
Chester has narrow pavements and cobble streets lots to do We arrived on Saturday bonfire night so the traffic was horrendous and with the road works and roads closed we circled around the city centre for about an hour trying to access a car park then had to wait for a space Avoid Saturdays Great evening and night life but so much to do during the day a Walking around Chester walls and canal is lovely and we had a cold but sunny day todo that. Just be mindful of getting around by car
Lovely hotel for our visit to Chester. We were right in the city centre only minutes from the Christmas markets which were the main reason for our visit. The room was very clean and modern. It was a little noisy at night while the pub below was still open but we had expected this being in the centre and right above a pub so didn't really bother us, the staff even held our bags for us the next day so we could go explore the city a little more which was fab. Would definitely stay here again.
we were a party of 12 and had actually booked the Hallmark Westminster Hotel but on arrival, we were told this hotel was undergoing a refurbishment and we had been upgraded to the Hallmark Queens Hotel (opposite the Westminster) the breakfast was superb, this fantastic hotel is positioned next to Chester railway station and is a ten-minute walk to the city centre. the consensus of the whole party of 12 was "wonderful" and most would stay at this hotel again.
The room looked like it had been newly refurbished - really nice! Very spacious. Huge bathroom. Provision of a fan in the room - great idea for the very warm days we stayed. Very nice staff on reception during the day/morning. Restaurant was lovely - had a great meal. We didn't get a chance to use the pool - hotel was so handy to Chester and Cheshire Oaks, that we did that instead! Pool looked lovely!
An excellent breakfast and free parking made the price paid for the room amazingly good value. The staff couldn't have been nicer and the added bonus of a bar for a nightcap was very welcome. It's a 20 minute walk into Chester city centre so very doable but there's loads of taxis available too for around a fiver. Would definitely stay at this friendly quirky hotel again.
As walkers we enjoyed the stroll into Chester city centre along the canal towpath, loving the sight of swans, ducks and other water birds with their little chicks. The stroll took us approximately an hour. We also used the local bus into the city - Numbers 41, 41A and 41B - the bus stop is outside Christleton High School which is just a short walk from the Hotel.
Chester
The location is really central, inside the walled city and the hotel is very historic. The paid parking is good value and secure, this car park is locked from 9.00 pm. It is very close to the hotel and easily approached by car from Delamere Street. Once parked, take the George Street exit, then turn left into Northgate Street to get to the hotel.
The location is great for Chester city centre. Quite close to what seems to be the main restaurant quarter. Parking is very close and a good rate of £5.00 per day.. The apartment is excellent, really good value considering it is only about £20 more a night compared with a hotel.
Excellent hotel and the food was great. Recommended and will be staying again when at Chester. Free car parking is great and lots of room. Internet was great. Bed was really comfortable. Staff really friendly and nothing to much of a problem.
Room was very clean comfortable and cosy . Breakfast was to die for excellent.Although on the main road into Chester it's offset in it's grounds so it's not noisey.ideal location for the zoo and town.would recommend this hotel.
Chester
Lovely guest house , reasonably priced and eating out facilities not too far away . The owners are very helpful and very nice . Best bit ,only a short walk to Chester city centre , no need to bring your car .I would definitely stay again
Great location on the edge of Chester City Centre. We had booked the hotel to give us more time visiting Chester Zoo which was only about a 10 minute drive. Plenty of Supermarkets and amenities close to the hotel also.
The location was convenient, a short taxi ride into Chester. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
the hotel was 7mins walking from train station 10 minutes walk to chester town centre 3 minutes to chester bus station
Great hotel, cosy & great bar service. Big car park & 35 minute walk to Chester City Centre.
Handy location to hotel and reasonable for city centre.
the service was good on arrival in the hotel,
