The Mill Hotel and Spa is located alongside the Shropshire Union Canal, 5 minutes’ walk from Chester Station. It offers 5 eateries and a leisure center with a pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked the breakfasts, the hot shower, the comfortable bed, the hotel bar and the Spa area. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and using the Jacuzzi. Also the cleaning staff were great and kept us constantly topped up with tea, coffee and biscuits in our room. The location of the hotel was also really good. We could walk into the city centre within five minutes. We had a problem with our hire car on the morning we were leaving. The fan was broken so it was very difficult to de-ice it the windscreen. A very helpful gentleman from reception came out at 4.45am to help us! We would like to thank him. Without his giving us some tea towels to wipe the windscreen I don't know what we would have done. So a big thank you to him and we got home safely to Turkey! We will definitely come back again in the future to stay at the The Mill.

Rowton Poplars Hotel, The Coach House Inn, and Moxy Chester got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Chester.
Very disappointing Dirty town and along river. LOts of empty shops The Rows - empty shops and in a bad state of repair Lots of people sleeping on the the street, when you come from a rural location, this can be off putting, But went to two good restaurants
Recommend hop on hop off bus to first get an overview of the city then to go back to when you knew what you wanted to see. Combine with the river Dee boat cruise. Walk along the verandahs of The Rows (black and white shops) in the city centre. Listen to street musicians.
Chester was everything we hoped for...Bags of history, charm and things to do and see. Around the town were plenty of tourist information on what was closest. plenty of eating places although we just used the "open" Churches for coffee and cake as they are reasonable, helping the Church funds and very pleasant servers. Mainly for pedestrians, made it easy to get about although you had to keep an ear open behind you for the near silent buses! good street entertainment to listen to whilst you rested along the walks.
Lovely to see new areas opening e.g. coachworks arcade. Large variety of foods to eat and the place had a real buzz and was full of activity. I Lots of the older/popular stores had closed so the high street was not inviting as a few years ago. Shame to see people living/begging on pavements and doorways.
The cathedral is wonderful. The walls around the city are lovely and easy to walk round giving lovely views. Good bars and restaurants. Some of thevstreets leading to the 'tourist's areas are rather tired.
A historic city with plenty of sightseeing, great shops and shopping centres. The walls of Chester are an enjoyable walk. Nice to walk by the river Dee and have a drink at The Boathouse Bar. There is also a Sightseeing tour bus and river cruise. Lots to do and see.
Chester
An excellent, quiet boutique hotel with great facilities within walking distance of Chester city centre, where the hosts are very welcoming, friendly and professional. Private parking was an added bonus too. A nice personal touch of a cuppa and home made cake on arrival! Luxurious room and very comfortable bed. Amazing wonderful breakfast with a great choice and using quality ingredients. 10/10 for us for everything. Thank you Dave and Kirsty for a lovely stay, we will be returning.
This is a grand, gorgeous hotel with spectacular restaurants and service. Breakfast is delicious and served in a gorgeous restaurant. Towels, coffee, tea, milk, shower, bed, sitting area in room are all what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Location is amazing with access to city walls and shops/restaurants. Arkle (within hotel) is one of the most incredible eating experiences we have ever had, with options for vegetarians.
Chester
The location is just 5 minutes walk to the train station and there's a bus stop just near the house. It's also 10 minutes walk to the center of Chester . The neighborhood is green and quiet. The house really clean and large . There's a garden outside . The hosts are really kind and tried their best to make my stay perfect .
Central, clean, modern and delightful front desk staff. Chester is an old town and we’d considered something more in character… i.e. “old”. just one night here and pleased we opted for Leonardo. pretty standard hotel room, but comfortable and convenient. Lovely staff at the front desk who were friendly and good humoured.
Chester
A nice hotel in a great location. Hoole is a vibrant area on its own & only a 10 minute walk into Chester City Centre. The bar & drinks available were very good & the food is excellent. The room size was more than acceptable with a large comfortable bed. Overall, great value for money.

Staff were very friendly and the hotel was comfortable. We got a taxi into Chester city centre which was a five minute drive away. Breakfast was delicious and we would definitely stay here again. We felt very safe and think staff did their best to adhere to safety for their customers.
Speedy check in, polite helpful staff. The evening meal was really good quality and the restaurant was nice and cosy. In general the hotel is really nice, well kept with some lovely features. Right by the train station and a nice easy walk into town
Similar to getting a hotel room. Just no reception and free to check in whenever you want through the key box and instructions. A bit impersonal, but works fine. Small bathroom and bedroom shower work. Limited spaces but good for a night or two.
Love the hotel very clean and loved the quirky ness of the lobby and the rooms added touches with a free welcome drink and the games in the reception area and lobby great walking distance from Chester centre. Staff very friendly and welcoming
