Staff was super friendly, helpful and nice. The room was superb, we stayed with a baby and a dog and we just had the best time. At night we would sit by the fire with the babyphone and a beer and it was just perfect. We spent our days walking, its a beautiful region. You can just walk out the door and start a hike, or take the car for hikes around. Rose Cottage, Chipping Norton is located in Chipping Norton, 11 mi from Blenheim Palace, in an area where fishing can be enjoyed. Beautifully presented property in a rural location offering all the comforts of home. Well situated in the Cotswolds with access to some of the nicest villages and towns.
Great for local walks. Great visiting the pubs and interesting chats with the locals (avoid the Crown & Cushion). Worth investing in a Treasure Trail or guide map to walk around the town, and discover the history.
Interesting area to visit, lots of beautiful villages and places of interest less than 30 min drive away. Broadway & Bourton on the water definitely worth a visit. Lots of pubs, shops & eateries in Chipping Norton. The Blue Boar is a vary good place to eat, lots of game and great pies on the menu.
I love Chipping Norton and have done for many years as have family who lived here for years but recently passed away. Its near to many villages also commute by train to London from Charlsbury 6 miles away.Train is one hour roughly.
Chipping Norton's probably not one of the prettiest villages/towns in The Cotswolds and there's not a lot to see/do if you haven't got transport but if you have its fine as a base to explore the local area.
2 blokes and 3 women to please, so the charity shops went down well for a browse. More time could be spent in bookshops and cafes or the cafe/bookshop. It was a Wednesday which meant we caught the street market which was lovely and varied. There is a small museum but we had no time for that. Just a nice place to have a walk up and down the high street. Parking is free but it gets busy. Chippy, as it is known locally, is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and its location means lots of access to the charms of the Cotswolds. It has it's own theatre but look up the programme in advance.
Lovely clean town lots of free parking ! Close to other beautiful Cotswold villages including hook Norton brewery ! Lovely eating and drink pubs esp the fox and the fullers pub ( amazing Sunday lunch !!) avoid the crown & cushion hotel / bar restaurant as not clean !!!
Chipping Norton
Very good price, comfortable room, neither too hot nor too cold, pleasant shower, excellent beer. Plenty of room in the pub downstairs. We'd been alerted to the possibility that, being above a pub, it might be noisy, but even though it was Saturday night, it didn't disturb me at all. It's right in the centre of Chipping Norton so you only have to walk a few minutes to get to anywhere in the town.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Sophie and Rebecca in particular worked so hard and always had a smile on their face. We only ate dinner at the Fox on one of our evenings there but even my daughter, who can be a little fussy, said the burger was one of the best she had ever eaten.
Chipping Norton
One of the best places we have ever stayed in. Just everything is so well done. Lovely little touches everywhere that just make it perfect. Food was great, room was great, location was great, well....everything was great ! (stay in Great Tew room if you can, massive bed and bath)
Staff were very attentive and organised a travel cot (£10 surcharge) which was very useful. Bathroom soaps are of good quality. Rooms are large and the hotel feels new and in relatively new good condition.
It was clean and in a good position in Chipping Norton. It had some parking which was helpful
