United KingdomLovely, well thought out room with brilliant basics (comfy bed, fabulous shower, great storage) plus wonderful extras; well stocked mini fridge and extremely generous complementary items (hot chocolate, flapjacks, shortbread, fresh milk in fridge, filter coffee and cafetiere ). Excellent food too. Wonderful location at the edge of the village. Can't recommend this place enough. I ve just moved into the area and will happily use for my overspill guests. Thank you!

TurkeyOur stay exceeded our expectations. The room was incredibly spacious—we were genuinely surprised when we opened the door. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had a lovely authentic atmosphere. The location was excellent, within easy walking distance of the old town and main attractions. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Serkan, who gave us great recommendations about the city and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay here again.

Very good pub/restaurant near the hotel which was alongside...
Very good pub/restaurant near the hotel which was alongside the Stafford Canal. Chirk centre looked very interesting with a closeby stunning aquaduct but we did not stop there, choosing to visit the NT castle.

Chirk is a sweet town. And there is the castle to visit.
Chirk is a sweet town. And there is the castle to visit. Plus the aqueduct and viaduct. A beautiful walk along the canal and aqueduct.
I didn't eat out in the evenings but there are places to eat.
Plus a convenience store etc.

I’ve visited Chirk on many occasions for business and...
I’ve visited Chirk on many occasions for business and leisure. The village is quieter since the building of the bypass. One feature to see is the aqueduct. Nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is famous but Chirk Aquaduct is impressive too. It runs alongside the railway viaduct over a deep valley. At its north end the canal enters a tunnel.

Disappointing. Don't be taken in. It's not really a castle, its a stately home and not a very interesting one at that. Only part of the 'castle' can be viewed, what can be seen is not very interesting and poorly presented and not set in context. There were no information screens, very little signage and what information there was consisted of 'this is a painting of a person you've never heard of. This is another'. At £15 per person (!) this was grossly over-priced and certainly not worth the money

Unfortunately we were returning home from one funeral to prepare for another in a couple of days so we did not have time to visit any where except the adjacent restaurant but it looked a pleasant little town with lots of local sites such as the castle and Pontcysyllte aqueduct

The hotel is centred on a huge plot of land so there is ample parking and great scenery. There is a canal just around the back for the perfect evening walk. Breakfast in the restaurant was clean with many options available. The hotel itself is a bit dated but has all the facilities required. The spa and gym were fantastic for a hotel. Overall, for the price this is a gem!

I have been going to the hand hotel for years and only once had a room I would not except every other room has been amazing , staff friendly, place clean and I think the hand should be advertised a bit more
