Crewe
Located within 16 miles of Trentham Gardens and 18 miles of Capesthorne Hall, Clen Holme House has rooms in Crewe. Another good stay, since my last stay the room layout in room 2 has changed meaning the bedside lamp & a plug socket is more useable (although at the minor cost of the radiator control being a bit hard to reach). Quiet room and comfy bed.
We stayed here to visit our daughter at Reaseheath university it was very close and convenient. There was also lots of places to get food and a very local supermarket. There’s lots of things to do in quite a local surrounding.
First night ..resturant cold ..several people complained..no action taken ..no draft beer ...no room service ..lack of a soap bar ...and noise aircon.heater which I think was faulty..for 358 for 2nights not wort the money ..very disappointed..and check out was no existed
Lovely property and spotlessly clean, took our little dog, she loved the dog friendly yard/garden, nice breakfast, we could n't regulate the shower so had a bath and there was smoky smelling bathroom but overall a lovely stay, thank you
I would definitely not recommend Nantwich House for visitors. The flat itself was ok. But situated in a building with some undesirable people unfortunately. Bad experience with very arrogant police. Nothing to do with me mite I add. Vermin running around outside in close proximity. Unfortunately would not return. Advised by taxi driver that prostitution takes place in Nantwich House. Very disappointed.
First visit to Crewe and sad to say it is a dump! Many businesses closed/derelict and it has lost its past Victorian grandeur. We did visit the market which has been redeveloped as a food hall/bar with lots of choices of cuisine: pizza, Mexican, noodle bar, Cypriot. Would definitely recommend. Other than that would advise a visit to Nantwich which is very picturesque and full of thriving independent businesses.
Old hotel with charachter and clean room. Booming music vibrating the room furniture from the public bar until very early hours. No bin in bathroom for sanitary items. Staff not trained in hospitality at all. Breakfast room in public bar was just that a public bar with no tables set up at all. A very uninviting array of soggy used teabags, cups no bowls, grim looking jugs of juice and milk and empty cereal packets with a flask of hot water met you as you entered so called breakfast/ public bar. Staff although pleasant had no clue on how to welcome and serve guests. We did not stay for breakfast. Do not stay especially after a long drive. Its simply added discomfort and distress to a long day. Come on The Royal Hotel,it is vital to welcome, to retain and to have guests return, especially in the present economic climate. Investment is needed in hospitality staff training. The Receptionist was cooking breakfast and the poor housekeeper was covering Reception whilst cleaning. Alice in Wonderland and The Mad Hare were playing cards in the bar too!
Good location (close to M6) was the main reason I chose the property as I was up in the Crewe area for business. The hotel which is located in the midst of a golf club is perfectly passable and staff were very helpful and pleasant. However the price point for an advertised 3 star property was higher than one might expect particularly given the basic facilities in the rooms.
Great little place to stay with the most helpful owner Steve who is an absolute gent. Well recommended short or long stay. I would get door tags stating clean room or do not disturb if you are a night worker like I was as I had cleaners walk in twice whilst asleep. Other than that it's a good 8.5/10 for me.
The reception team were very friendly and helpful, and tried very hard to help us (see below). The breakfast was perfectly reasonable and the rooms were tidy and clean. The area was quiet and felt safe. No problem finding a car parking space even though the hotel was busy.
