Get away from it all at this hotel high on the side of the Black Mountains, overlooking the Usk Valley and the surrounding hills. Everything went well, the staff was very friendly and kind, and the room was very nice. Every single question we had was answered nicely or they checked for us to help. The hotel is located on the top of the hill and has fantastic views with no traffic or noise other than birds of tree leaves moved by the wind. We really enjoyed our stay at the Manor Hotel, we will definitely back with more friends!

Clean and lovely small market town. The locals you pass in the street are friendly. The staff in all the pubs and restaurants we used were very friendly and welcoming.Great walks from town and nearby.Lovely independent shops.
Fell in love with Crickhowell and the shops and eateries and people. The coffee shops had distance and outdoor seating. Welsh Covid has no 'options' on masks, indoors, and everyone we met was keeping to the rules. Pretty spot with interesting architecture and romantic castle ruins...larger than expected. Good parking. The ladies in the new information office, serving coffee as well, were delightful and helpfully found us a £1 map and historical walk around the village, super. Set on hill above the picturesque river, with river walks and dog friendly meadow. Children's playground by castle. Not too steep to slowly wander. Garden's and baskets well kept lovely. Just go and enjoy.
Pretty little town located between Black Mountains and Breacon Beacons. Several great places to eat and lovely walks in the hills or along the Usk and Brecon Monmouth canal. Some interesting little shops: delicatessens, butchers, green grocers, chocolate, off licence as well as chemist, garage etc.
Great location in the black mountains next to the river Usk . Good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. We stayed and dinned at the dragon inn hotel which we reccomend . Walked up to the bear hotel for a pint, which has plenty of character and friendly staff.
Pretty little town sitting above the River Usk and set amidst some stunning mountain scenery. It boasts houses and cottages in chalk box colours and a handsome high street with several independent shops, pubs and cafes. There is also a 14th century church, a long bridge which has 12 arches on one side and 13 on the other, and the remains of a castle. Walks from the town take you into into the gorgeous surrounding countryside. Perfect for walkers, hikers and lovers of the great outdoors.
Crickhowell has a good range of individual shops, cafes and bars and is situated within stunning countryside, ideal for walks of all kinds. Being very close to Llangattock it is also idealy situated to enjoy the Vine Tree restaurant
Crickhowell
Spacious, toasty warm and comfy apartment style b&b. No contact with staff as per advert but they were close by if needed (we didn’t). No breakfast time tyranny so leisurely and relaxing start to the day. Brilliant walks up to Llangattock Escarpment and Crug Hywel table top and beyond. Great shopping, bars and food in Crickhowell. Canal close by for gentle strolls. We were the only people at the complex of cottages and sister b&b apartment next door so very quiet (end Nov)
Beautiful characterful old place. Our room, no.25 was in the attic with old beams and very spacious. Comfy beds and clean. The toilets in reception were spotless, the breakfast was spot on and our evening meal was delicious. Staff very friendly, efficient and helpful, recommending walks and ciders! Would definitely stay here again as the location was perfect and to top it all off the weather was glorious. Many thanks for a lovely stay and we hope to be back.

Our delicious breakfast was cooked to order. There was also fruit and cereal available. There was a private covid-safe lounge available where we also had breakfast and our evening meal. The hotel was near to Crickhowell, Brecon and Abergavenny which were good places to visit.

Cozy building with a lovely cast iron fireplace, recently updated kitchen and bath and stylish design.
