Location and the actual Inn was lovely and central to a nice little village. My room with ensuite was comfortable and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and ordered scrambled eggs not on the menu and was made with no trouble. Inn has lovely outside garden space to eat and drink in addition to cosy bar and restaurant inside.

Debbie was an excellent host, the place was super cosy, quiet, close to nature park Galloway, Loch Ken was basically in the back garden and the animals walking in the fields behind were adorable which made us super happy to see them pass by when they were being fed.

Spacious and warm cottage in a beautiful setting with its own garden. Well equipped kitchen, excellent shower, and good sized dining table that can be set up in the living room. There is an upstairs WC, as well as downstairs shower room, which wasn't obvious from the online booking page. Walking distance to the local shop, tea room and the CatStrand Arts Centre.

Lovely old hotel in the middle of the village. I called in & asked if I could drop off heavy rucksack & the proprietor Susan said I could check in early. She was very nice to chat with & so helpful. Comfy room & bed, good shower. Everything I needed. Big breakfast. I had a great walk down to Kenmure Castle - fascinating, spooky place in beautiful surroundings (see my photo). Could have very happily stayed for a week!

Cosy, quiet, clean and stocked with all the basics. Fantastic value and good information packet too. Owners left great instructions of how to find too. Saw the Genemede meteor shower from the bench in the back garden while barn owls swooped around, lovely!

If you want to be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by...

If you want to be in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by forest and hills, then this is the place for you. A 30 minute drive will take you to lots of interesting places and there are lots of opportunities for walking. The Red kite feeding station in Laurieston was a highlight and the Loch Arthur farm shop cafe in Beeswing is great for lunch.

The house is very comfortable and well set up for the uses...

The house is very comfortable and well set up for the uses we needed. The host is excellent and responds very quickly to any requests. The beds are very comfortable with high quality, hotel style, linens. We would definately visit again.

The property and host were excellent.

The property and host were excellent. The house is in a nice quiet area within a private forrest estate. It is is very clean and well maintained with easy access to local forrest and hill walks with great views.

Pretty rural town with one exceptional restaurant/bar/hotel...

Pretty rural town with one exceptional restaurant/bar/hotel (The Clachan Inn,) and one very good restaurant/bar/hotel, (The Lochinver Hotel.). The town is well located for exploring the wild areas and near to various activity centres of Central Galloway.
