Darlington has been our favourite wee k end place for a few years now. There is an abundance of bars and restaurants to suit all budgets. There always seems to be something on in the town square and easy to pass an afternoon sitting watching the goings on. One of our favourite bars is the Boot & Shoe found at the bottom of the town square. Great value and fantastic food
Great town centre with plenty of amenities. We could have stayed for longer than 3 days, we will definitely be back. A good base to explore the surrounding area too. A visit to Richmond castle is a must !
It is so close to great locations, Durham, Whitby, Robins Hood Bay. The drive up was so scenic and beautiful. Darlington itself is clean and has everything you could need. We had fish and chips at Robins Hood Bay, and they were superb. Such a great location.
I was born and grew up in Darlington, over 70 years ago. Have lived in Heysham for nearly 22 years now. This trip was made to trigger memories of my childhood and adult life, also Walworth Castle was where my now Husband took me on our first date. I couldn't believe the change. Like all places in the UK it has clearly suffered badly from the pandemic, lots of empty shops, lots I use to work in had disappeared Seems to be lots of new construction taking place including building and road improvements, so much so a Sat Nav was a must this time. Lots of eating and drinking choices, some shops I've not seen elsewhere. Still an Ideal base for seeing other attractions in County Durham though.
Darlington is nice town with some attraction near. I would recommend for people looking for place to stay when they want to travel around that area. It is about 30 min drive from Newcastle, but places to stay are much cheaper and more attractive that in Newcastle. It was our second stay and second apartment. Very nice people and fantastic accommodations with a lot shops around, and a lot places to see if travel by car.
Have visited Darlington many years ago and we still love it. Unfortunately this visit was limited due to a foot injury (acquired prior to visit!) so we couldn;t get around the town. The immedite area near hotel was really pleasant with several "dickensian" style shop fronts , lots of lovely brick and stone work....we were close to the town square but couldn't get about to enjoy it!
Darlington

I really did like everything. Location was good. There are a lot of bus stops near the hotel. Town centre is only about 15 minutes walk . There are a lot of shops and pubs not far from the hotel. The stuff was very kind to me as well. Basically nice comfy and very cheap room. I will definitely stay here again next time.
First staff on arrival was a really and helpful lady who offered to change our room due to initial room being above the ball room whilst events were on. Really clean and tidy room, good room size and hotel was a great location. Parking facilities very handy and ideal, overall good value for money.
I stayed there mid week with my partner. We did not have any meals in the hotel, but were quite impressed with the quality of the rooms and public areas for the price we paid. The hotel was very clean with a decent quality of decoration. and lots of outdoor space.
The hotel is very clean and tidy. Good location close to Darlington and different activities for families ie ten pin bowling, skating. Staff were helpful and friendly especially the gentleman with the glasses at the front desk was so friendly, helpful.
very friendly and welcoming staff, clean room, comfy bed, nice modern bathroom, great complimentary breakfast and snacks, quiet, great location (very close to Darlington railway station), good heating in the room. A great place to stay!
Hotel excellent, food in the restaurant for dinner, very good. Staff good. In an excellent position for roads and visit to Darlington. The room was excellent bathroom modern and new.
This is a comfortable hotel and very convenient for Croft Circuit. Our only issue was that my wife found the pillows a bit hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise good.
Such a comfortable room and bed. We were able to use the hotel facilities before check in and the late check out 11 was a real bonus.
Everything about this place was amazing. We have found our place in Darlington. We will definitely be back !

Darlington
Most important for us was that the Hotel is very dog friendly. The Hotel room was large with a TV - WIFI and tea making facilities and lots of attention to detail, the bed was comfy and we both slept very well. The young serving staff were super and evenings in the bar with our dogs was out of this world. We befriended some locals both young and old and we had a super super evening and a great meal all at super price. Breakfast in the morning was a full English served by the owner who took time out of her busy day to talk to us. Thanks you all for a wonderful stay, and we will be back.
Darlington
Excellent value for money, close to town centre, supermarkets and popular fast food outlets. Secure apartment in an old Public House. Everything you need in the apartment including a washing machine. Although we didn't cook there was a well equipped kitchen. The wi-fi was good and there was a freeview TV with a selection of DVD's, books and games. As a base to visit relatives it was an excellent choice for a family of four.
The hotel is a few minutes from the railway station, and a few minutes from the hippodrome theatre, perfect location. I would definitely stay in this hotel again
