Featuring meadow land and woodland views, Dartmoor Riverside Lodge is a lodge with a balcony, around 3.7 mi from Castle Drogo. The lodge is pretty much well contained and an absolute fantastic location. Enjoyed sitting on the outside terraced balcony watching the bats late at night, not to mention the sound of the river close by. The walks you can have from this location are great especially to the pub at Fingle Bridge. The lodge is spacious enough for 4 adults and great to have washing machine, tumble dryer if you needed them. An incredible place to 'get away from it all' but has wifi if you need it. Also owner was contactable if required.
Located in Drewsteignton, just 1.3 miles from Castle Drogo, Church View House has accommodations with a shared lounge, a terrace and free WiFi. Our gracious host kindly prepared us a lovely breakfast every day with freshly cooked bread and brewed coffee. The room was very comfortable and quiet and we slept well every night. On our last day they prepared us a delicious Italian dinner and were wonderful company. The area is a great entry point to Dartmoor and everything is a fairly short drive away.
Featuring garden views, Burrow Farm offers accommodations with a patio and a kettle, around 14 mi from Exeter Cathedral. Jackie and John are a lovely couple and welcomed us to their beautiful, traditional Devonshire home. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed our talks, as well as the facilities in the countryside around (long walks, pubs, castle Drogo...), a mere 25 min from the centre of Exeter. The place is ideal to explore Dartmoor, the English Riviera or the surf grounds of the Atlantic! The bed was super comfortable, the bath had nice hot water, which was welcome after long walks and outings. One of the best places we have ever stayed at!
