Stowmarket (Near Drinkstone )
This elegant medieval manor house has 3 acres of walled gardens, and is located just off the A14, 3 miles from Stowmarket. An exceptionally well appointed, spacious, traditional family home, in the style of the village Manor. Nothing was too much trouble, I slept well and very much enjoyed the full tasty English breakfast, using all local ingredients and home cooked bread.
Pretty countryside and walks in the area. Interesting church at nearby Woolpit, where there's also a lovely gift shop and tea room. Good food at The Bear in Beyton, about 2 miles away. You need a car to get to most places of interest.
It was a beautiful place! The hosts are so friendly and welcoming and they offer a high attention to details in the rooms to make your stay as comfy as possible. The breakfasts were lovely! The location gives very easy access to the town Bury St Edmunds and we enjoyed the pubs to eat out at in the local surrounding villages.
It was an overnight stay for work so I wasn't there very long. However, I did take a stroll around the village before breakfast. Lovely peaceful farmed countryside with opportunities for walking and seeing wildlife.
