Hotel in Dulverton
Located in Dulverton, Lion Hotel Dulverton features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi throughout the property. The hotel has family rooms. A Full English/Irish breakfast is available daily at the hotel.... The breakfast was delicious and very well hosted. Extremely accommodating for my girlfriends dietary requirements and provided a great vegan option. The setting, which was beautiful, sat atop the high street looking out onto the charming village and breathtaking surrounding Exmoor Forest. We had a great time chatting with the owner (practising my appalling German) and we were very well catered for.

The breakfast was cooked fresh. The bacon was thick cut and very tasty. The mushrooms were fresh and cooked to perfection. The egg was exactly right with a lovely rich yellow yoke. In short it was yummy. The marmalade was home made by an expert. The service was excellent.

Dulverton itself is a lovely town with Co-op supermarket and various individual shops of varying types. Beautiful walks close by and eateries if you wish to dine out. Cottage is approx 5 miles away in the Exmoor National Park and within walking distance of Tarr steps with a beautiful river walk. With a washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and cooker , there is everything you want for a pleasant stay. Lounge is cosy with log burner if you need to supplement the Central heating. Wi fi and tv , beautiful 4 poster bed and large bathroom the cottage gives you everything you need. Coast is not far away either so gives plenty of places to visit. Excellent all round , highly recommended.
A picturesque and clean market town, with interesting shops. Informative and friendly staff in the Museum. Dulverton also hosts the Exmoor Visitors Centre. It is good to go a town with a Public Library, Post Office and a good range of shops. It also has a couple of car parks as well as on street parking.
Zeal farm is about 5 miles from Dulverton. Dulverton is excellent with a nice atmosphere and excellent places to eat. However you might also consider Withypool tea rooms which we loved. Also the food and service in the London Inn in Molland was excellent and slightly out of the ordinary.
I loved the town, it is well appointed and a good base for exploring the area. It is very attractive, well maintained and offers many traditional features. Shops, pubs and restaurants can easily be accessed on foot.
We like Dulverton. The people there were suffering Covid related issues. Places closed for indoor eating due to self isolating and it rained our whole stay. The chip shop was open but had no delivery of calor gas. Struggling on a small electric fryer. We had fish and chips Saturday and Sunday though because unable to sit inside nowhere to eat. Unfair to judge in these circumstances. Everyone was brilliant. We have been before and it’s a lovely place
Really lovely village. It has everything you need in terms of supermarket, pubs, cafes, interesting independent shops, art & craft & gift shops, & even three hairdressers! But it is also very picturesque and unspoilt, with the river, surrounding woods, beautiful old church and buildings and an interesting history
Dulverton
Tuppence Cottage is a real find in the heart of the picturesque small market town of Dulverton. The cottage is extremely spacious and super comfortable with large leather sofas and chair and a well fitted open plan kitchen. All the rooms have plenty of space and the cottage was spotless so we felt at home straight away. The owners, Jaqueline and Mark were lovely and on hand if there were any problems .
Dulverton
Wonderful house high on the hill, spacious, clean and very comfortable. We loved the games rooms and all the extras, and the two reception rooms. The location is great for exploring Exmoor, and Dulverton itself is a lovely village with beautiful woodland walks on its doorstep. The host was friendly and helpful, and easily contactable by phone. We would definitely go back.
Dulverton
Lovely quiet location with only the sounds of the countryside and farm. Watching Red Deer running on the moorland from the dining room. Hearty breakfast perfectly cooked and amazing hospitality. Warm, cozy bedroom and very dog friendly. Sitting by the wood burner during the evening in the dining room is a perfect way to end each day.
Dulverton
Town Mills is located in a convenient, central location of Dulverton and in a peaceful area. Overall, we had an excellent stay. Breakfast was most delicious and cooked to perfection. Charles and Alison were very welcoming and helpful with giving good recommendations with places to visit and eat. Thoroughly recommended.
Dulverton
We love visiting Dulverton and this property was perfect. Plenty of room, everything you needed was provided, even with COVID restrictions being adhered to. It was spotlessly clean and particularly enjoyed the outdoor courtyard area
Dulverton
Spotlessly clean. Tasteful Decor. Handy for Dulverton Main Street for all facilities. Caretaker on hand if you needed any help and overall we loved it and we will be back!!!
In its day I’m sure it was an impressive hotel with lots of Exmoor charm but sadly it is lacking in this today. Great location and great for our tour of Exmoor.
