West Rocks Townhouse, Alexandra Hotel, and East Beach Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Eastbourne.
We found that Eastbourne is very anti dog owner. Unlike other resorts, no part of the extensive main beach was open to dogs, even though the locals flaunt the 'dogs banned' instructions. The front was dirty, unkempt, tatty, rubbish in the limited plant beds and the smell of wee everywhere we went. The one big positive was The Belgium Cafe that we stumbled across and was great.
Good typical English resort.easy parking android bus services mostly on the flat so good for the elderly or disabled, you can even more a disabled scooter in the shopping centre.good choice of eateries but beware most close early.
Eastbourne has a lovely atmosphere, it's quieter and calmer than Brighton and has a wonderful beach. Also good are the shopping centre, restaurants, cafes, pubs, charity shops, seaside-type shops selling rock and souvenirs etc. The people seem very friendly and helpful. It's not depressing or bleak, the atmosphere is actually quite lively and quite trendy in parts. I recommend Harry Ramsden's for the best fish and chips, and the nicest staff. The Dotto train along the seafront is also a must, and £5 will buy you an all-day "hop on, hop off" ticket. The pier is worth visiting too, there is a lot going on there with many more attractions, and beautiful sea views.
Fir us it was run down in places, like the peir, so much coul be done to attract visitors, and empty shops so run down. Keep on top of paint work, black out empty buildings, eastbourne is a fair enough location for Brighton, Severn sisters, nearby Lewis, the accommodation was excellent where we stayed at brekers b^b. And would return . Local council need to clean uo, b4 its to late for return, I would only stay hear again for the excellent acomadatin and hospitality we received as a base.
The entire town is clean, well maintained and offers numerous retail options in the newly completed Beacon. Seafront was in excellent condition, with freshly painted furniture and an air of a local authority fully committed to first rate service.
Interesting town. Plenty of chain restaurants and coffee shops but also brilliant independent coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs. Particularly the Lamb in old town, Tiger at East Dean. Thai restaurants in Little Italy! Enterprise centre next to the station and n the green at East Dean.
The fact there was also a bar with sea views , the barman made superb pina coladas ! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms with sea views are worth paying the extra, waking up with the breeze and the view are priceless, the restaurant food was excellent the crab avocado and scallops starter both amazing the duo of pork main was delicious 😋 If your going to Eastbourne or want a short break in a nice hotel stay here.
Eastbourne
I have stayed at The Sheldon before with my family when we visited from the US, we all enjoyed it. It was nice to see the owners, Judy and Greg again. The Sheldon has all you could ask for in a B & B. Free secure parking, very nice Breakfast Bar with fully cooked delicious breakfast. (Thank you Greg ) My stay was peaceful even though there were few vacancies. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when in Eastbourne.
Eastbourne
what a great hotel, with fantastic views of the seafront and the pier. such easy access to all amenities. The included full English breakfast was absolutely delicious. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed at that actually had an adequate amount of milk for the tea that was provided in the room. They did have coffee too. The bed was really comfortable, the water was hot, and the owners were very friendly.
Loved the location and view of the seafront, beds were very comfortable staff were lovely and very helpful with everything and for information about where everything is in surrounding area. The bar was a lovely area too we were all very happy and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at West Rocks hotel and will certainly return for another adventure thanks West rocks 🥰 .
Eastbourne
Nice quiet location in a residential road with plenty of driveway parking. 3 minute walk to a nice quiet beach , 10 minute walk to local food shops and a 20/25 minute walk along the seafront to Eastbourne Pier and town centre bars , eateries etc. Apartment spotlessly clean with modern decor. Everything you needed for your stay .
This was my second stay here. it is a very well modernised hotel in an excellent location. This time I had a seaview room and was pleasantly surprised by how good the noise insulation is (seaview rooms in Eastbourne overlook the seafront road). There was a good choice at breakfast and it was well served.
Eastbourne
I liked I got what paid for in the hotel, he was flexible with the time of checking in, he directed us on where to find parking. Comfortable night sleep and work up to sunny Eastbourne sea view from all the windows it was sooo lovely. Duncan was very helpful in getting the WiFi set up for us.
Eastbourne
- personal touch - the owner puts his heart and soul into his hotel and it really shows - The owner of this hotel takes the comfort and well-being of his guests really seriously. A rarity nowadays! - directly at the beach - view of the beach (if you book accordingly)
The View is a modern hotel at the seafront. It has all the amenities that you would expect to find in a hotel of this category and more. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent and - for a change - was served in spacious dining area.
The hotel is well positioned for the seafront, and a reasonable walk to the town centre. The staff seemed helpful when we saw them, which was not that often as they were always busy. We got a big, light and airy room with windows on two sides overlooking the theatre.
A beautifully manicured and lovingly maintained historic hotel. It's a tribute to the staff and management how well the hotel is cared for. In fact, I can confidently say The Hydro is my 'Résidence de choix' when I am in Eastbourne!
Beautiffully furbished hotel, friendly staff, perfect location for the Seafront, Theatres and Town Centre. Enjoyed dinner in the restaurant one evening.
Have stayed in a few seafront hotels in Eastbourne. Can honestly say this was my favourite. Room clean bed comfortable food good what more do you need,?
