The hotel and grounds are lovely, excellent staff (including before our stay via email with requests), evening meal was delicious. Only negative was the bathroom was dated, but it was clean. Would definitely recommend and will stay again.
Although the hotel was excellent we had a walk through the picturesque village of Ecton, full of charm and yellow stoned buildings. The is also another pub in the village, the Three Horseshoes, a locals pub, good beer but no food.
Terrific character. surrounded by the ironstone village of Ecton with thatched cottages and a unique church. Hard to believe it is so close to Northampton. In spite of being next to the A4500 I never heard the vehicles and wasnt disturbed.
For us and our trip, it was perfectly situated. We ate at the hotel restaurant every evening of our stay. Excellent value and cooked to perfection. Also enjoyed the 'Happy Hour' (5:00 - 7:00!!) in the bar, again super value. Staff just lovely.
The staff are a real asset to the hotel Friendly and helpful My overall opinion of the hotel It’s in dire need of refurbishment The lounge one has to go through to get to the toilets is awful. Old furniture scabby looking seats and horrible little tables. Certainly not somewhere I would like to sit and have a drink The good part is the food, the Sunday lunch was excellent as was the evening meal we had on arrival Will not be making another booking
If you like a bath this is not hotel for you can just about sit in it and I'm only 5'1" tv small bed comfy we were ok in are room but other in party said could not sleep as rooms to hot. Staff friendly rooms clean but basic
