Our hosts were absolutely fabulous. We were served a delicious breakfast and had a choice of what we wanted. The room was gorgeous - beautifully decorated and comfortable. Good heating. Our hosts had anticipated any need a guest might have. Parking is on site and completely secure. It is only a short walk to a lovely pub for dinner. We highly recommend Falconwood and would stay here again but unfortunately this was our final trip to the UK.

Lovely place to visit walking along the cannel and walking along the Lake as well and a lovely little town , Close to Shrewsbury worth a visit as well lots shops and bars etc . We had all are meals in the Hotel as food first class and not to pricy like some hotels , and good service and quick and food hot .

Ellesmere has beautiful walks and scenery, the canal runs through it and the walks to the meres and around the mere is lovely. A few nice pubs and places to eat, not a huge amount of shops, perfect for just a relaxing 2 night break.

Ellesmere is a beautiful place. lots of interesting features due to the canal, wharf, and mere. We were visiting in February and it was still pleasant to visit despite the cold weather. May visit again in summer months

Elessmere is a beautiful location with many options for walking and exploring, including the nearby Llangollen/Shropshire canal. As a walker I could easily have spend several days there and used this locatuion as a centre for my planned activitieds.

There were lots of local walks, perfect for dog owners. Great play facilities for children and plenty of good places to eat - all well identified on the free map of Ellesmere. The sculpture trail was interesting and would be great fun to do with kids. The mere is lovely for an early morning walk. The snack at the Boathouse, overlooking the water was nice and the coffee very good - there was no pressure to finish quickly. The food at the Red Lion was excellent, great range and good value for over 60's. The map of Ellesmere was excellent and made the whole stay more pleasurable.

The Red Lion is well situated within walking distance of the town centre, and also a short walk away from the Mere which is Ellesmere's main attraction. The town is very interesting and compact, and is served by bus to Shrewsbury and the Welsh Border. There are many footpaths around the area, including canal paths and various Meres nearby.

Peaceful location in rural area 3 miles from Ellesmere which has much more to offer than we realised. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. It was just over an hour drive to Manchester airport to drop our hire car off the following morning. Not a modern B & B now but the grounds are beautiful and I was surprised by how close a navigable canal was. Picturesque Hordley St Mary the Virgin very nearby

A well decorated compact property in a superb location. Adrian Lea is a very responsive host & prepared us in advance with a lovely video tour of the property with step by step instructions. It’s clean with all facilities needed to have a nice cosy weekend break. It’s situated very near the town centre with lovely cafes & not far from the Ellesmere canal or the Mere.

A lovely little cottage in a very central location. Very well equipped and comfortable. Parking right outside the front door. The owner was very helpful sorting out some queries about accessibility. We visit Ellesmere every year and will definitely be booking again.
