The Parsonage Hotel & Spa is a Four Star Hotel set in 6 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland and offers free WiFi and free parking. York's city center is only 15 minutes' drive away. Everything was good, the staff, the bar, the ambience. Especially liked the door keys and standard of decoration.

Westergate House offers bed and breakfast accommodations located in mature gardens just outside the village of Escrick, 5 mi south of York on the A19 to Selby. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Only a 20 min bus trip (depending on traffic/bus 415 and a very short walk from the stop). Breakfast so delicious; the host was flexible with what we wanted to eat. The host provided info on the bus transportation, offered to keep our suitcases for the day after morning checkout, helped with dinner reservations at local pub. Comfortable, spacious room. Very hospitable, easy to chat with yet definitely respected our space. Highly highly recommended.

Peaceful location within a pine forest. We had great weather for walks in and around the forest and fields. Starry skies at night lay in hot tub. Lodge was immaculately presented with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and nice linen. Bath robes and slippers provided (nice little touch). Definitely going to be visiting again. 15 mins to get into York if you leave early enough.
