Tucked away and completely private! The barn has been sympathetically made into a one bedroom property! Really homely! Lovely features with the vaulted beamed ceilings and log burning stove. So clean and everything catered for. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. Location is perfect for exploring north Norfolk.
East Rudham (near Fakenham) is a great location for exploring Norfolk. Just a few miles from the Norfolk coast and well within reach of inland sights such as Holkham Hall, Norwich or Walsingham. Most attractions are dog-friendly and finding places to eat no bother at all particularly with our hosts recommendations. Travelling around by car was easy but parking close to the popular beaches at the weekend was somewhat more challenging.
Fakenham is a small market town with not much going on. It's main attraction is its location just off the A148, the road that links Kings Lynn with Cromer. As a result, all the attractions of north Norfolk are within reach.
It was quite central to the beaches. We visited Cromer, had fish and chips at no 1 fish and chip shop, which was very nice. We drove up to Snettersham and looked at a little antique shop where we had an amazing breakfast, service was quick and the staff were super. Good value for money and pet friendly too.
Fakenham is a smallish market town with character, small enough to walk round. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious so we did not see it at its best. It would be good to return in the warmer weather. If you like charity shops there are plenty. There seems too be a shortage of tea shops.
Spacious and warm. Kids loved everything about the stay and found the beds very comfy. I can’t tell the same for the double bed though. I found it hard, small and uncomfortable. Not sure how clean the place was and was a bit outdated. Overall ok but unfortunately will not go again. Only a small car can get through the gate without scratches.
Didn't see much of Fakenham this time as I was visiting friends. It is though a vibrant town, as I have visited the area before. Norfolk is a lovely county and Fakenham is a good base to travel from.
Jason and his team were fantastic and nothing seemed too much trouble.
