Close to the town center and 0.2 miles from Felixstowe Railway Station, this Victorian hotel offers free parking for guests. The property was initially built for Lord Tollemarch. The evening meal was very good value, and the breakfast was great. The room was also very nice with a lovely modern en-suite. The hotel tariff was very reasonable.
Located in Felixstowe, just a 5-minute walk from Felixstowe South Beach, Serene Sands has beachfront accommodations with a garden and free WiFi. We didn’t eat the breakfast. The closeness to a superb beach, the exceptional cleanliness and facilities offered ensured we had a great holiday.
Cosy Bungalow Near Open Countryside in Felixstowe has accommodations with free WiFi, 12 miles from IP-City Centre - Conference Venue, 14 miles from Saint Botolph's Burgh and 19 miles from Flatford. Loved everything about this location! Great parking, very clean, conveniently next to a field area for walkies, wonderful amenities, lovely backyard, fantastic location, and very pleasant and nice owner!
Not what I would call a typical holiday destination. yes it had arcades etc but not on a scale like Great Yarmouth. It depends what you're going there for. I was going for the ships and not a beach holiday so it was perfect for me.
The room was spacious and clean I was disappointed that there was no tea also there was no pen to complete the feedback form. Very good otherwise. Thanks for a comfortable night, it served our purpose.
Beaches, shops places to eat were all great. Great place to visit as long as you avoid staying in the best western hotel. The location is perfect but that is where the compliment ends on that hotel. Freddys was great to eat at. There’s a place called beach street with shops, food and music. Really great place to go. We didn’t need to drive we just walked everywhere. Nowhere to avoid other than that hotel I mentioned above.
We love Felixstowe. Usually visit here around 4 times a year. The kids love the beach and arcades. This year we also went to Rendlesham Forest to walk the UFO trail. Rendlesham Forest is a 30 minute drive from Felixstowe.
I liked some of the well looked after old surrounding buildings which felt like going back in time. I can't remember seeing anyone using a mobile phone, other than myself to take photos. What I didn't like in town was paying with a phone or shops getting rid of their cashiers and opting for self - service tills.
felixstowe, like many of the so called 'lesser' seaside towns in England, has been an area in depression/recession since the 80's, however theres a huge amount being done to reinvigorate the area....of particular note is the container shopping centre being created by Mannings amusements on the seafront....it offers crafts, trinkets, food and the likes, including a great 'Dirty Hanks' vegan takeaway shop. Theres local attractions in the form of the fort museum and pick your own farms. Its an easy drive to Jimmys Farm and other such. Felixstowe town ventre itself provides very limited shopping choices, but on a plus note it has one of the very few remaining Wimpy restaurants. The seafront and pier provide opportunity for long walks with easy access to toilets, icecream etc....yes i do seem to have eaten a lot on this holiday!
We stayed here in August with daughters and grandchildren. Lovely apartment with the most amazing views of the sea and everything on our doorstep. We had a great sleep too. Try and go to 'Gosling Farm Shop' (about 4 miles from Felixstowe) as it has (walk behind cafe where we had our breakfast first) the most amazing farm that the grandchildren loved with animals you can pet, cuddle and even get in with, goats, lambs, sheep, calves, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs etc. We had a relaxing time, we will return.
Beautiful bungalow and location. Comfortable and clean. Perfect for dog walking and not too far from Felixstowe seafront Karen was so helpful. We will definitely go back.
I didn't have breakfast bit I stayed here last year also as I'm originally from felixstowe ( grew up in Trimley st mary)
