Many families visiting Filey loved staying at Downcliffe House Boutique Hotel, The White Lodge Hotel, and Wrangham House.
Filey is my happy place, full of memories. I will return as often as I can until my legs prevent me climbing the hundreds of steps needed to get from beach to town centre!! Definitely recommend Charlotte Glass House Bistro for food, service and excellent facilities.
Beautiful quiet seafront with lovely big beach which has great sunrises. Good Restaurants are a bit scarce but would recommend the Downcliffe Hotel. There is good train service to Hull and up and down the coast.
Filey seafront is not commercialised...it has all the basics- giftshop, ice cream, seafood stall, amusements etc but on a smaller scale so it's not in your face ! The beach and walkways stretch on for miles with plenty of sitting areas where you can take a break to enjoy the views. The town itself is up a quite steep hill from the beach (there may be easier ways of getting there!). There are lots of tea rooms ,restaurants and dog and family friendly pubs lots of lovely unusual shops to keep everyone happy . Had a lovely relaxed break and an added bonus ..the Soapbox Challenge was held on the Sunday ...a great laugh !!
We love Fileys charm, it has a lot of tea rooms we can recommend Angela’s tea room and different shops, for all ages. A flat promenade and an upper garden area with seats and views, good fresh fish and chips, tasty ice creams and long walks along the golden Sandy beach. Just a couple of hours travelling time from West Yorkshire.
All was within easy reach as the apartment is in the middle of the town. Even then it was not noisey in the evenings. Close to the sea where you can walk on the cliff top or along the beach. A good place for a sleepy break.
It’s quiet unspoilt by tourism a little gem on the east coast of Yorkshire a must visit for all ! Wonderful clear clean beaches friendly local folk what a wonderful and remarkable place to stay ! We travel the world but go to filey twice a year
The property was very modern and clean. Every bedroom had its own en-suite facilities which was fantastic. No need to share bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could have needed. The location was great and within walking distance to Filey shops and seafront and only a short drive to Scarborough. Although there is no off-street parking we never struggled to find parking spaces nearby for two cars. We will definitely return in warmer weather to make use of the lovely garden.
We have really enjoyed our stay, the caravan is immaculate, it has a huge double bedroom and good size twin and is in an Excellent location on the Primrose valley site. Close to the mini market, restaurants, beach. Easy drive or lovely scenic bus ride to Filey, Bridlington and Scarbrough. The communication with the owner was fantastic, she is a lovely lady who responds to messages quickly. We will definitely be re booking in the future.
The apartment was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The resort was really quiet and clean with a pub and nice cafe. There was ample car parking near the apartment too. We would not hesitate to book again. It's only a 10 minute walk to the beach....one of the best in the UK, and from there you can walk into Filey town. There is a regular bus back to The Bay from Filey bus station.
The property was very clean and well looked after. Instantly felt comfortable and relaxed, a real home from home. Nice little touch with welcome treats for us and the dog. Great location next to the on-site facilities and ideal location for exploring Filey, Scarborough and beyond. Thank you for a lovely time.

Filey
It's ok for the beach ,and commuting .stay clear of the onsite pub ,the meals are overpriced cheap and you would do better to nip the road to the nearest chip shop, sorry eating out in Yorkshire isn't the best
Filey
Everything at The Southgate was excellent. The following Night we stayed having booked through BOOKING .COM at The Grand Hotel Scarborough it was deplorable' What a difference between two Hotels
A great breakfast menu but not much choice for me as I'm gluten-free and don't eat eggs. I was surprised fresh fruit wasn't on offer.
