Folkestone is a very nice family holiday location, it has beautiful views, amazing beaches, and the best restaurants and cafes. Folkestone is the perfect location for family holidays but it can be slightly tougher if the weather is bad.
If you like to visit building sites by the sea the Folkestone is for you. A mish mash of development styles means the town has lost all of the character it had 50 years ago. No longer the attractive seaside resort it once was. Such a pity.
A very up coming sea sea side resort that has been for far too long neglected ! With already a good choicer of restaurants and shops , I am pretty sure that few others would open up considering the "grand feeling" that the long promenade offer . I can't wait to return there.
Folkestone harbour is a lovely place, but don't stay at the Grand Burstin Hotel. The only thing good about it is the view! The walk up to the town is very steep so if your walking isn't up to it don't even try.
Very impressed by our walk for a couple of miles towards Sandgate on a lovely morning, very impressed and pleasantly surprised. Didn't venture far into the town but less impressed there. Ate at very good Turkish restaurant nearby, however. We have previously eaten at Rock Salt which we enjoyed. Overall we liked Folkestone and would go back there.
Did not get chance to visit the town as just an overnight stay on way home and being elderly with arthritis unable to get around. The parts of town we saw made me feel I would like a longer holiday there
On arrival we were upgraded to a lovely room with four poster bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. During dinner our waiter was very apologetic that we needed to wait for our starter and couldn’t have done more to look after us. The food was delicious. We needed to leave early in the morning and so staff opened up the restaurant early for us so that we could still have a cooked breakfast before we left. The manager asked us frequently how our stay was. We would use this hotel again if in the area.
Very clean, friendly staff, great location for the beach (shingle) which you get to via the Zig Zag pathway. Short walk along the Leas to the centre of Folkestone, plenty of pubs, bars and restaurants. The Leas is very pretty, clean and tidy. No car park at the hotel but we found street parking straight away just about 40 metres from the hotel, cost of parking is £2.00 per day payable at the hotel. Parking wardens do walk around so be warned.
The room was a good size and sneaked a sea view. Bathroom was very large. Room decor was fresh and nice. The bar was OK with music and deep purple seating. The Leas in Folkestone is great - no traffic, miles to wander through cliff gardens, over beach and across the top to the town. I know that's not the hotel but the point is the location is good. And only just off the main A259 too.
Folkestone
The breakfast was basic, but what you need to start the day. Light and healthy. Tea and coffee was good, too! The location is fantastic. Right on the beautiful waterfront with walking access to beach and town. Very safe and quiet. The host that met us was wonderful and very helpful. We will try to stay here next time we visit Folkestone!
Very friendly reception from Taff and a nice clean room with comfortable beds. Location is ideal - quiet - away from M20 and outside Folkestone so perfect for coming or going to Channel Tunnel. Only noise is guests coming and going which is unavoidable for this type of hotel. Its nice to be able to open windows and get fresh air.
Folkestone
A few annoying issues: fridge not working properly, number of bulbs missing or not working, bathroom extractor not working, courtyard left messy with cigarette butts and an old disposable bbq. Next door to some sort of hotel with one night of really loud bass heavy music playing until about 11pm
Folkestone
The value for money is brilliant, the staff make you feel really welcome and although Folkestone is a bit of a quiet town, they really sell you on it (not in a misleading way, honestly). Would always go back if I wanted a midweek or weekend getaway in Kent.
Folkestone
The hotel location is excellent and near many beaches in Folkestone and near to the city centre. Plus in the room you have microwave, small fridge , Kettle, cups, glasses and plates with forks, spoons and of course tea, milk, coffee and sugar
Loved the old-style, holiday, guest-house/hotel feel. Felt like we were really on holiday. Room was comfortable. Breakfast could have been better, but then it was a pretty budget price - so no complaints.

Small hotel with location near the Harbour, facing the sea. Convenient Private parking to rear of hotel. Excellent Full English Breakfast. Family run by cheerful and helpful owner.
Location very central to folkestone, don't have to fight for parking spaces, £2 a day for parking is a bargain really
Breakfast was great, and the Hotel is cycle friendly which made it a better place to stay at than Dover.
It was a good central location for visiting areas of kent
The staffs are very nice, greasy hotel.

Thorough and clear instructions sent on how to reach and enter the property. The host was friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious and I really felt catered for with my dietary requirements with great selection made available for vegans. The room was spacious with comfortable bed and beautiful touch of having the White Company products in the bathroom so was like being at a home from home. The location was perfect with an extremely short walk to the sea front and local amenities. All in all, a wonderful stay and can’t fault our stay. Thank you.
I enjoyed my stay very much, Richard was very welcoming and went above and beyond to help me during my visit. The room also was very comfortable, clean, cheap and cheerful. All was great. Happy to recommend.
