Just a few minutes’ walk from Fort Augustus on the edge of Loch Ness, this award-winning lodge offers four-star hostel accommodations with free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. Very comfortable, lots of space to chill out. Bed was great and shower was amazing - really hot and powerful. Had veg chilli for dinner which was delicious. Opted for a bacon sandwich for breakfast which comes with a hot drink, fruit juice, fruit and granola slice. Both meals amazing value for money! Staff were so accommodating. Perfect place to stay after. along day adventuring!

In a stunning location overlooking Loch Ness, this country house hotel offers free WiFi and charming guest rooms with private bathrooms. Free private parking is also available at the Inch Hotel. This hotel is simply fantastic! The setup, food, service, location, etc! I loved the hotel. Michael gave us a fantastic service!! 11/10 for this place! We wanted to stay one more night but in this season they are closing Mon and Tue and that didn’t allowed us to :(
We re-visited Fort Augustus to celebrate our wedding anniversary (we married in Fort Augustus). This place is very special with stunning scenery. The lochs are amazing. There are plenty of eateries together with a grocery shop, butchers, newsagent, post office and gift shops. It has a petrol station on the main road and has several hotels, guest houses and a couple of chalet parks.. There is also a large carpark.
We loved the open feel of Fort Augustus, you did not feel like you are on top of your neighbours. The staff are friendly, and I had the honour of meeting the owner, what a lovely lady. If I were planning on staying longer than two nights, I would certainly book for a bigger pod with kitchen amenities in order to cook. Other than than, I look forward to coming back.
Fort Augustus is a busy bustling location, lovely to while away time around the staircase lochs. Sit beside the locks with a drink from the Lock Inn, take a 50min boat cruise on Loch Ness, dine at The Boathouse beside Loch Ness or just wander around town and enjoy the gift shops and other eateries available.
My first trip to Fort Augustus was 23 years ago as a day trip. With that memory, we decided to stay for two nights on this occasion. The Caledonian Canal and the associated operations of the lock is every fascinating as it is a simple representation as to how human works with the nature for good. The Loch Ness is just a step away. Fort Augustus is a good base to explore both east and west of the Loch Ness.
The view was great and made fantastic pictures too. There were lots of nice shops, and lots of cafes and restaurants with tasty food inside. There is boat trip there, but I would try book it a few days early because it's very popular and seems to book up rather quick. The midges are annoying, but if you cover up then you'll be okay. I think it's a very good place to go.
Right on the southern end of Loch Ness, this is a small place with the added bonus of the Caledonian Canal locks which are really interesting to watch in action. There appeared to be lots of places to stay and several restaurants. We took an excellent RIB boat tour around the loch with Loch Ness Cruises.
Great Location for visiting Loch Ness, Fort Augustus is an ideal base for touring the area. Kettle House is set in delightful grounds, which were lovely to explore even in the rain. A comfortable bed in a charming room made for a restful night. Breakfast choices were extensive and food tasty. Natalie was welcoming, a charming host. All Covid precautions made for a safe enjoyable stay.
Myself and a friend were doing the Great Glen Way on bikes and Fort Augustus was our first stop. The Loch Ness Guest House was a lovely hotel close to the centre of town. Good room, great bath / shower, comfortable beds, use of communal facilities and overall it was excellent value for money. Would most certainly recommend.
The property has a neat and tidy breakfast room which has a good selection of food to eat. Also its location on the edge of Fort Augustus is just a short walk to the centre of town where the Caledonian canal enters Loch Ness and there you can find plenty of places to book for dinner. Also there is a large car park.
The location and setting of Fort Augustus is magnificent with great views down Loch Ness and the surrounding mountains. The Caledonian canal lock gates proved an interesting spectacle too. It certainly helped that we had glorious weather, blue skies and very hot for the time of year.
Good value for money, the pod wasn't cold, good shower, bed was comfortable, had a TV. Kitchen was well stocked. The patio areas were lovely and had some nice views of the mountains. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Had a great stay and would recommend
Beautiful cabin, massive (comfortable) bed, fantastic view. Short walk into Fort Augustus itself where we enjoyed the food and bagged ourselves an evening cruise on Loch Ness. A perfect cabin with a perfect view, we couldn't have asked for any better
Liked the fact that you could walk a small part of the Great Glen Way into Fort Augustus. The view from the front of the building takes in a bit of Loch Ness. Take a boat ride on the Loch beautiful scenery. Of course you can’t forget the Caledonian Canal
A beautiful house situated within walking distance from Fort Augustus. We had a lovely room on the ground floor, very spacious. Breakfast was a delicious continental style. Sofia was a lovely host, very accommodating and helpful.
Every thing about the hotel and stuff and location The rooms are more beautiful in reality and the receptions girl was very helpful she did her best to arrange transportation for my departure thanks Mallory 🙂
This place was out of this world! It’s medieval past has been well preserved and was truly brought out during our stay. The apartments are very comfortable, clean, spacious, and cozy!
Great little overnight stop. Clean, spacious, comfortable room. Self check in worked seamlessly. Cafe downstairs serves delicious breakfast rolls and good coffee.
I liked Fort Augustus and how close the lodge was. Comfortable lounge, nice bar area. Spacious dining area. 24 hr free tea & coffee.
Location, a short walk to Loch Ness And Fort Augustus Locks. Good breakfast, comfortable bed and good shower
The grounds of the Abbey and the Abbey itself are glorious. The facilities in the self contained apartment were great. It was spacious and well appointed, with full cooking and cleaning facilities. Bonus, we had a view of Loch Ness.
The building and grounds were unique and converted well into a family friendly and interesting place to stay.
Amazing views with amazing rooms.
