Charming, scenic, quaint.
Charming, scenic, quaint. Fowey is hilly, but this adds to the charm and the views across the bay to Polruan are beautiful. The shops are not the usual tourist clutter, but sell ingenious artists work.
Brown Sugar at Fowey has Gluten food.
Take a ferry rice across to Polruan for a wander and have a meal at The Luggar, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. They also serve gluten free meals.

Lovely views of the estuary and Polruan.
A really relaxing and attractive town and harbour to visit.
The gorgeous scenic Coastal walk to St Catherine's Castle was very enjoyable.

It's good that there is a mini-bus ferrying people from the main car park down to the town and back, at £5 per couple per one way trip. There are plenty of places to sit, a good array of shops, and a very pleasant outlook across the estuary.

Care and consideration is needed when driving as roads very narrow and parking limited. The town and surrounding area are beautiful. Plenty of beaches, bars, restaurants for all price ranges right up to Michelin star standard.
Service, hospitality and food very good in the places we ate and drank. Narla, Springtide and the Quayside Inn.
The array of cultural events, shops and history to the area has something for everyone and felt very safe for all ages.
The beaches are beautiful and do not hesitate to travel that little bit out of town to Lantic Beach, worth a visit

very welcoming place.
take a river tour, its truly amazing and much better than the self drive boats, as you get some of the history of Fowey as well - cheaper too !
take the bus to the town car park as its a steep walk......

The walk from the Harbour hotel to the town was more pleasant than expected, with access from the hotel directly in to the town.
Streets are very narrow and steep, but the town is full of a mix of both beautiful independent shops and some larger well known retailers.
We'd recommend wearing comfortable shoes, booking your parking, placing dinner reservations in advance and taking time to explore as the town does get very busy!
A lovely historic town with plenty to keep you occupied, with lots of shops, river trips, eateries and stunning views!

Loved the situation, lots of mature planting and not too close to neighbouring properties. Very comfortable beds and lovely big sofa. Good, variable lighting so it could be reduced in the lounge area in the evening. Very well equipped kitchen, good bathroom with a powerful shower and an actual bath. Very easy to access Fowey town centre (down a very steep hill) as the town bus service stops almost outside by request.
Great location for visiting the south Cornwall coast, Heligan etc. We also easily crossed over to Padstow, only 40 minutes run.

Central location in Fowey. Really friendly landlord who made us very welcome and the bar area has a lovely friendly feel. The room was clean, modern and well equipped. We were very comfortable there and would definitely stay again.
