Located around 1 mile between the villages of Buxted and Framfield, The Studio @ Great Streele Cottage is a retreat for 2 people, surrounded by a spacious garden. Uckfield is 2 miles away. Everything - perfect setting, gorgeous accommodation, lovely hosts and yummy breakfast.
In the heart of Sussex, this magnificent country house hotel is set in 312 acres of private grounds and parkland, yet conveniently close to Gatwick, Brighton & Hove. Upgraded to a large lovely suite. Thank you so much for that, Buxted. Breakfast wonderful. Staff wonderful. I was here 6 years ago. Very nice finally to come back! As a traveller from Norway it is quite simple to get here with a rental car from Gatwick. Will be back!
With beautiful gardens, Beechwood B and B offers hearty breakfasts and 5-star bedrooms. The award-winning B&B is set in the village of Halland, in scenic East Sussex. Just everything from the warm welcome, the immaculate, cosy, comfy and luxurious room, delicious breakfasts, friendly and helpful hosts giving excellent advice in the area.
Lovely country setting ideal for a short stay but very little to do within the surrounding area. Drove into Lewes for evening meal which was nice but after a 7hr drive to reach Framfield wasn't really what we wanted to do, would have preferred to have been able to walk instead.
It is very tranquil so if your looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle with great walking areas of country side and a fab country pub next to the accommodation then it's ideal and ticks all the boxes
Stayed 2nights at Blackboys Inn. Didn't visit surrounding area we were staying for a family wedding nearby. However we ate the one evening at The Blackboys Inn & the food was excellent. Good choice on menu, reasonable prices & what we chose was very very tasty. Definately recommend.
We two circular walks of 4 or 5 miles each. One from Blackboys Inn and the other from Buxted Station. Found the maps/directions online. Both walks very enjoyable indeed and just about right for a couple of hours. We did have to drive to Uckfield to get a Saturday paper, which wasn't hugely convenient, but then the remoteness of the village suited us otherwise!
