With free Wi-Fi throughout and free parking on site, The Southfield Hotel is located in the seaside town of Girvan, a 30-minute drive from Galloway Forest Park. Breakfast was fantastic with a complete options for the cooked breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hotel & the room itself were very clean & inviting.
Woodland Bay Hotel is located on Girvan’s picturesque coastline, 2 miles south of the town, offering fantastic sea views. The bright, attractive rooms at Woodland Bay Hotel have smart design. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar have not yet reopened but we were able to enjoy a delicious meal via room service. There is a local shop selling chilled beer which resolved that problem too. The hotel is clean and very presentable inside and out. Our room was very nice in every way - comfortable bed, great shower, and good size of room. We had all the breakfast, milk and other foods we needed in the well stocked kitchinette.

Located in the seaside town of Girvan in the West Coast of Scotland, Ayrshire Holiday Cottage is a holiday home featuring a private garden and conservatory, 18 mi from Ayr. Nice quiet area good place to stay easy access to all areas and close to local amenities
Girvan itself is a lovely little town, the beach was great for the dog, and the harbour was lovely. We only spent one full day in Girvan however, also visiting Ayr, Stranraer, Portpatrick and the Galloway Forest Park which aren't too far away in the car. There's a selection of fish and chip restaurants, and takeaways, and an Asda supermarket too for food. The best place to eat for us was the Woodland Bay Hotel Restaurant with it being dog friendly. The food there was amazing!
We stayed in Girvin so that we could take a boat trip to Ailsa Craig. It was a good trip to the island. In Girvin, we jogged along the shore path to the harbor and enjoyed walking back to our hotel along the beach. The locals we interacted with were friendly and helpful.
Guest house was exactly as advertised which was booked at the last minute . Girvan itself was quite disappointing and a bit run down Harbour very nice and locals very friendly, beach was lovely and clean. View over the sea was beautiful
Girvan us a very run down fishing port urgently in need of investment to bring it up to scratch for holiday makers the area is severely lacking in quality bars cafes and restaurants and is very run down in appearance do not let that put you off though the sea views are amazing and so is this hotel and Ayreshire us beautiful full of castles stone circles and history. I recommend the hotel as a base for travel as it is about as it is about 3 miles outside the town.
Girvan is a very quiet little town, which does not seem to have any tourist amenities. We didn't find any nice little cafes or bars where we could go. We had to eat in our room at our accommodation. Coastline is lovely and good for walking.
Girvan is quieter than other Ayrshire resorts, but it has a fine beach, interesting harbour and plenty of walking. I was walking the Ayrshire Coastal Path and the section to Dunure is superb. Also highly recommend the trip to Ailsa Craig on the MV Glorious
Small but beautifully formed. Lovely little outside seating area and friendly neighbours. Cottage is newly furnished and decorated to a high standard. Bed is super comfy and bed linen crisp and fresh. The cottage provides everything you could need, with WiFi and even Netflix on a large tv. Girvan is ideally situated to visit Turnberry, Burns Country, Culzean Castle and further afield. Yasmin's Indian Restaurant/takeaway is highly recommended
Beautiful rural setting. Super quiet. We had a great rest. Comfy bed and warm duvet is much appreciated. We pretty much have everything you need, even salt and oil for a quick meal. Pick up some milk to bring with you if you need it for breakfast. Otherwise, it’s a 12 mins drive back to Asda in Girvan. We loved the sheep and horse lounging around in the field near the cottage. Will definitely be back if we come to Ayrshire/Galloway again.
What a lovely, well-equipped home. Very comfortable and the super-king size bed was amazing . Cute courtyard garden for sitting in the sun or watching ovet the water. Or even trying a bit of fishing! Great hosts, very welcoming with lots of little extras like tea, coffee and biscuits. Would heartily recommend to all for a wee break in Girvan. Hope to return sometime. We loved it ❤
Great location. Some facilities limited due to covid regulations and the time of year but clearly stated in the accommodation description. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and great views. Did not have a lot of interaction with the hotel staff again due to the covid regulations but the owners were very friendly and accomodating.
Really good quality bedding, towels and furnishings .Good ensuite and large room with fabulous sea view.Breakfast tableware also excellent quality and food a very high standard. Janey lovely and friendly. We would definitely go back if attending any future events at nearby famous hotel and golf course.
Had a lovely 3 night stay, cottage has everything you need! Ideal location for various trips out. Girvan the town isn’t the biggest but it’s close to loads of towns around the coast. Kenny the owner was great and helpful.

Breakfast was fantastic with a complete options for the cooked breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hotel & the room itself were very clean & inviting.
The kids loved the Easter welcome pack. Accomodation was spacious for 4 and 2 toilets an occasional bonus lol. Location good for Galloway forest walks and nearby Girvan.
Loved the view, the breakfast, the host (and his partner), the bed. Loved Girvan, love Culzean Castle nearby. Frankly it was agreat coupe of days.
