    Interesting city.

Interesting city. Walks available, along canal, and nature reserve. Cathedral, old buildings, museums ETC to visit. Docks area great for drinking & dining. Small enough to reach everything on foot.

The historic dock area has been done up and is a pleasant area for pedestrians with plenty of seating. The Waterways museum is excellent, good for kids and adults. There are many different places to eat to suit different tastes and budgets. If visiting the cathedral it’s well worth paying for the guided tour. There is also evidence of the other side of city life - homeless people on the streets, closed shops, shouting, noise at night, but it’s no bad thing to be aware of the reality.

Gloucester is very much like many other cities in the UK, closed shops and very quiet. The advantage was the cathedral. It is an ideal base for travelling, we visited the Cotswolds and other local places.

Took the park and ride which was great. Walked around the cathedral but didnt feel the £6 entry "donation" was right for us as we were only going to spend 10 minutes if we had gone in. Lots of shops including charity shops which I love!

The cathedral was breath taking - we are not religious, but the architecture and the people working in the restoration who were willing to chat about their work made the visit truly excellent. Walking around the Quays was good - both the boat museum and the more commercial shopping centre. Lots of good quality eating places. Can also recommend and out of town museum called Nature in Art. Can also recommend the Queens fish and chip shop just one minute’s walk down the road from the apartments!

I was very happy to stay at this historic and picturesque Inn. It had all the modern comforts with a rich heritage. There were historic references posted, such as, the tragic Lady Jane Grey was declared Queen there in 1553. I enjoyed the breakfast area. Cozy and historic. Excellent food. Staff was very friendly and allowed me to store my bag before check in time. That was much appreciated as I could explore Gloucester immediately. Short walk from the Rail station, if you come that way. Took many photos of premises. Would love to return.

Central Hotel was very good value for money. We had a spacious room, well-fitted bathroom and comfy beds. The fridge and microwave are great additions. Everything was very clean. Parking is at the nearby multi storey, accessible via the shopping centre opposite the hotel. This was easy. The location is within easy walking distance of the cathedral (well worth a visit) and quayside, with many restaurants and a cinema. Staff were all pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is located out of Gloucester but still within easy range of the centre. Rooms are a good size and very clean and the bar serves a range of beers and other alcoholic beverages. Out through the doors from the bar is a large external seating area with plenty of tables to sit at. The area is served by a handy food trailer where Burgers, Pizzas, Hot dogs and Fries can be purchased. there are plenty of parking spaces.

A good location for visiting Gloucester/Cheltenham etc. and close to the M5 but not close enough to be disturbed by traffic noise. A good amount of pubs and restaurants in the area. The room was standard HIE meaning it has everything you need for a good night's sleep. Breakfast included in the price, caters for all tastes. I would definitely use this hotel again when travelling to/from the West Country.

The Hotel has a quirky, ageless feel about it, which adds to it's charm. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. An added bonus was a small fridge (which we needed to store meds) and a microwave, plus a kettle. Free parking in the centre of Gloucester, Would happily stay again.

Location was excellent for me. Not far from where I had to get to. I didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the facilities as I had to get up early but I was pleased with everything about the hotel. So much I booked up to return at the end of the month.

The hotel is a genuine timber framed Tudor building with a superb courtyard. I think it is beautiful, atmospheric and incredibly charming. It is also situated 5 minutes walk from Gloucester Cathedral and the Gloucester Quays. Enough said.
