Hotel in Goathland
The Inn on the Moor Hotel has a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in Goathland. There is nothing not to like about the property and staff. From the moment we entered the hotel, nothing seemed to be too much trouble and all the staff were so friendly. Having 2 labradors can sometimes be an issue but in the room they had there doggie welcome packs and doggie breakfast too. The hotel is a credit to the owners and staff and have already booked for next year
Goathland
The Goathland Hotel is in the center of Goathland and is more commonly known as The Aidensfield Arms in the UK television series Heartbeat. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. The location, perfect. The room was lovely and also clean. Staff were acclimating and friendly. Food was averagely priced. COVID aware, required to wear a mask upon entering the hotel. We did not expect that, however, no issues with that.

Goathland
Located in Goathland, 2297 feet from North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Fairhaven Country Guest House features accommodations with a bar, free private parking, a shared lounge and a garden. Evertything - comfortable room, free private parking, picturesque village location, delightful breakfast (unless you're doing a morning walk you probably won't need lunch), in the room I had spectacular moorland views, friendly hosts. I honestly can't see how Sarah and Pete do it for what they charge. If you need to lay in supplies for an extended stay, a big Sainsbury's in Whitby is 10 miles away. One local pub that is open so far serves very good dinners; hosts will book you a reservation.

Went in the Goathland Hotel ( ie Aidensfield Arms) and was not impressed at all. Staff unfriendly, beer expensive but poor quality. However, went across the road to the Inn on the Moor hotel, extremely friendly, amazing atmosphere and well priced, good quality
Goathland is beautiful - plan a visit if you enjoy a glimpse of the past but with all the amenities a visitor needs. A beautiful village nestled in a dip in the moorland with a rich history connected to the railways and a chance to take a ride on a steam train from Goathland Station (made more famous by Harry Potter). Goathland is also well connected by the modern Yorkshire Coastliner Bus Service which allows fabulous views of the moors and coastline and will get you into the seaside town of Whitby in under an hour. We ate from the bar menu at The Mallyan Spout Hotel and it was delicious. Access to the Mallyan Spout Waterfall walk starts at the hotel incidentally. If you don't fancy the pub, there is a tearoom next dooIf you like waterfalls, walks, country pubs and tearooms and sheep on the common then this is the place for you.
A lovely village surrounded by beautiful countryside. The North Yorkshire moors railway passes through the delightful Goathland station. Very popular with walkers and people wandering through the village. Lovely cafes and quaint shops. Good parking.
The country house decor was lovely. The restaurant is stylish and the food absolutely delicious. I had the fish and chips and it was a big tasty plate of food. Staff are friendly and the hotel is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. Mallyan spout is a short walk away as is stunning moorland scenery. Will definitely return. Goathland is a beautiful village.
Beautiful walk down to Malayan waterfall, we went left at the bottom of the steps, and managed to complete it all, it's quite rough terrain and definately need good footwear, I think we the only ones that went all the way round , there's some deep drops and and lots of bracken to get through , it was an adventure to say the least, but really enjoyed .
We love Goathland and the surrounding area. Extremely picturesque and plenty to see. Short walk to the Mallyan Spout, which is worth the walk (although suitable footwear and a camera are recommended). Whitby isn’t far and agin is such a nice place, with lots to see and do.

A pretty, clean and well equipped cottage in a convenient yet peaceful setting. Excellent dog friendly and secure garden. A walk along the old railway line leads to the beautiful village of Goathland
The hotel is set in a stunning village surrounded by fantastic scenery. The staff were exceptional - easily the friendliest staff that we have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble!
