Located in Inverbervie, The Crown Hotel has a restaurant, bar, shared lounge, and free WiFi. The hotel has newspapers, a fax machine and photocopier and an ATM machine that guests can use. We always get a really friendly reception from Dave, Diane and staff. The food in the restaurant is exceptional, especially the full Scottish breakfast which is big enough to satisfy the heartiest of appetites. (Lighter options are also available). We stayed in room 4 which is a huge, recently refurbished, family room at the top of the stairs. The Crown provides really good value for an overnight stay in the heart of Inverbervie. Lovely Flat Costal Walk to Inverbervie and Johnshaven with Lobster shop for fresh Lobster Rolls. Highly Recommend also Cafe at Harbour for lovely food too.
Small fishing village, quiet ( not Saturday or Sunday when the weathers nice). Quayside restaurant is excellant, make sure to book. Small shop at the top of the hill for food, wine etc. Great walk along to Inverbervie.
Gourdon is a small fishing village on the Aberdeenshire coast. There are walking/cycling paths north and south, which means you can avoid the main roads. I don’t think they are really suitable for road bikes, but I would stand corrected! There’s an excellent fish restaurant and a local pub that we can recommend. Inverbervie is about a mile away if you need anything else. We just liked watching the sea and the boats and the birds.
I have a special connection to Gourdon as my dad was born nearby in Bervie, but it is in any case a perfect picture postcard fairy tale location. The best thing about it is that it is still a working fishing village where you can sample the local catch.
A picturesque view of the harbour was just one of the things we adored about this location. The hostess (see Emma at Gowan Bank) made us feel like family. Her home was filled with every amenity you could ever want. The locals were polite and full of personality! It was comfortable, quiet, and perfectly clean. By far, my favorite accomodation of 8 days in the UK. Absolutley perfect! Be sure to eat at the Quayside, too!
Lovely place to stay, clean, cosy with modern facilities, great location, outstanding management, and stunning views. Our hosts, Emma and Hamish were really nice and made all our family of 5 including our little 11mth toddler feel very welcome - even met their gorgeous kids. The milk in the fridge and the shortbread left out was a lovely touch. The kitchen is modern and well laid out, and sits open plan to the living area, giving a welcome and comfortable space to relax. The rooms upstairs are cosy and perfect for parents with kids next door. Great cupboard space and comfy beds. Would highly recommend this little gem and we will definitely be back to stay.
