Featuring a garden, Dale Cottage provides accommodations in East Rudham with free WiFi and garden views. I booked Dale Cottage for a short stay with my parents so we could easily visit places in North Norfolk and along the coast and we really loved it. It was super easy to meet the owner to collect the keys, we had a great welcome, the place was super cosy, and beautiful inside. I had the downstairs bedroom and loved the windows in the ceiling which gave superb views of both the sunny mornings and the night sky! Plenty of space, comfort, hot water.. all we could want. With parking on the street but the cottage a short walk off to the side, it was lovely and peaceful with no passing traffic at all.. just the sound of the birds. If you are looking for a lovely pad with a short walk also to a great pub for dinner (The Crown) then this is a great spot. We would book again for sure.

A delightful place! The regular march past of the ducks in the early evening was so cute and memorable. It is a great centre for touring Norfolk and the coast. Sandringham is a must see! I would also recommend Wells next to the Sea! The Bircham Mill is lovely too! Great for adults and children where you can make butter and bake a loaf! Burnham Market has excellent car park with spotless public toilet facilities and has wonderful shops and tea rooms. We will definitely return to explore more of Norfolk and stay at The Dabbling Duck!
Great Massingham is the quintessentially English village, with duck ponds, church and pub. The two ponds were full with ducks and Canada geese, which waddled pretty much wherever they liked 😁. It was delightful. Most places were easily accessible by car, although some of the lanes were a little narrow. There were plenty of guide books in the room, with information about the whole of Norfolk. The pub was very busy in the evenings and booking a table for dinner is recommended. There isn’t a great deal to do in the village itself, but there are walks.
We only stayed one night, so didn’t have long there. It is a very pretty village. We had a walk round in the evening and one of the villages, who had come out with his bin, had a chat with us, which you don’t get in many places these days. We ate at the Dabbling Duck, good food and friendly staff.
Stayed at the Dabbling Duck overlooking the local duck pond, and opposite the church. Grab a paper from the local village shop. Idyllic. Just a short walk away you can explore the now derelict WW2 airfield. Visit and see for yourself.
Lovely village , lots of places to walk not too far from the sea side. The village shop sold all sorts of things. The local people were friendly we felt very relaxed. We ate at the Dabbling Duck and at The Rose and Crown in Harply. Both good and friendly pubs. Walking was good, we got some maps from the local pub. We are not young really, but walking and exploring the area was good. A short drive away were seasides and market towns. Unusual shops and cafes, nice. For cream teas! A fish supper in Well next to the Sea, was lovely, very pretty at the quay!
Ideal base for a day or two for walkers. The local "WW2 airdrome" is still infrequently in use according to the Internet, by prior arrangement. It has a public right of way and is interesting from a historic point of view.
