Friendly reception every time I appeared , on arrival , for dinner , for breakfast, a family feel to the place which is an antidote to the soulless corporate chains.
Food is cooked to order and of very high quality with a saffa twist.
Rooms are well appointed with quirky furnishings

I visited the Watts Gallery & Artists Village including Mary Watts chapel. It's near the village of Compton. Took bus No.46 from Bus Station (stand 5) leaving at 10:15am. The place opens at 10:30am and spent a great four hours there. Check out official website, especially if interested in 19th century English arts & crafts movement.
Guildford town centre has lots of alley ways off the very long High Street that were interesting to explore; varied restaurants, bars and shopping.

I was there for business, not as a tourist, so cannot comment in detail. The traffic can be very troublesome. The property where I stayed was outside the main town centre, which would cause me to choose it again.

Firstly, Guildford is a very busy little town, with a dual carriageway splitting the place in two. The cathedral is definitely worth a visit, stunning architecture and views of the surrounding area. Lots of choice for dining and drinking. If you like a trad pub with good choice of beer and live music, then try the Star on Quarry Street. Recommended.

Small town vibe.
Small town vibe. Very vibrant and l enjoyed the delicious cuisines. I don't like the fact that everything shuts down at 6pm even on a weekend.
The closing time should be looked into, especially on the weekends.

Bit tricky to find town centre.
Bit tricky to find town centre. Cobbled streets are lovely but not ideal for wheelchairs. Nice individual shops and eateries. The park and ride signage remains but is no longer running. Parked in York car park. The exit to town centre is on level 9 but no signage

Lovely old market town.
Lovely old market town. Interesting individual shops, as well as the usual chains.
Lovely river walk with good riverside pub for lunch or dinner.
Interesting castle with beautiful spring flowers.
A theatre with good range of performances.
Older people should be aware the High Street is quite a steep hill.
Lovely town - many nice places to eat.
The Hotel is sited within short walk of Guildford town centre and Trains to London. The room was clean, bright and actually quite spacious. The ensuite was clean but a bit on the small side, nowhere to hang towels etc. The shower was wonderful, very powerful. Breakfast was usual English fayre with cereal, fruit, yoghurt and of course the cooked breakfast. Plenty of options on the latter. Bed was comfortable enough for a full nights sleep.
Beautifully converted garage with every convenience necessary for a visit to Guildford. It's bright, spacious and less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Guildford's main shopping area. Definitely better than a bed only booking in a hotel.
Location and character of the building. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast available. Helpful staff.
I’ve stayed here several times and this is definitely the best hotel I’ve found in Guildford.
The lady was nice. The room was clean. There was plenty coffee and tea in the room. Location is good. I used to live in Guildford so I know the place and walking distance to town centre. Everything was easy.
