We have stayed in Guildford frequently but the last visit we had was for a graduation. The city is great, regular trains to London. The city itself has a great mix of feeling like a city but then has countryside only 10 mins drive away
My third visit, but so busy with traffic maybe my last. High Street now a shadow of its former smart self. Many empty shops. Cathedral still beautiful. Are some pleasant suburbs and good rail service.
Guildford used to be such a great town But now Grass verges uncut Weeds in the road gullies Never driven over so many pot holes Worst roads ever driven on And as for that eyesore of a casino that needs pulling down I remember back in the day when it was plaza such a great looking building . Come on surrey and guildford council please clean the town up and make whoever owns that casino tidy the frontage uo
Such an amazing small city. Plenty of choice for restaurants and pub, for next time definitely needed a reservation, every place was completely full. Impressed how every single pub, restaurants and bars, are all beautiful. All looking very cozy! I wished to visit all of them. Very friendly people. I recommend to go up to the hill, is such a beautiful And peaceful place.
Beautiful views and lots of great walks. The North Downs Way cuts across the river which makes for a few good days out. Viewing points include st Martha's hill and Newlands Corner, all within an hour or so to walk from town or 5 mins from the hotel. The town centre is very nice, high street feels quite posh but there are other shops at the other end more budget friendly! Very good place to eat out.
Guildford
Great value for money. Check in was smooth and straightforward. Having a fridge/microwave very useful, and being able to have a fulsome continental breakfast in the room was great. Bed was also very comfortable and good location - short walk to the town centre. Can't think of anything to improve on. Would highly recommend as a comfortable B&B option in Guildford.
I booked this hotel for my husband birthday weekend away, as soon we arrived the staff very friendly and welcoming, room very clean and to top it out the staff has left a birthday card and a sweet for my husband birthday! Thank you so much for making it so relaxing weekend away from home.

Beautifully converted garage with every convenience necessary for a visit to Guildford. It's bright, spacious and less than 10 minutes walk from the centre of Guildford's main shopping area. Definitely better than a bed only booking in a hotel.
The hotel has a friendly atmosphere and is well situated just outside Guildford room are good and the food in the restaurant is very nice the staff are helpful and it’s a regular stop over when I am in the area.
The location was fantastic and as someone who grew up in Guildford I can recommend this hotel as it is slap bang in the centre of Guildford town close to the castle shopping centres and pubs.
I booked this hotel specifically as it had a swimming pool with sauna and steam room. The spa area was lovely and quite relaxing.
