The Boship Lions Farm Hotel

Boship (Lions) Farm Hotel is set in peaceful grounds, with parts of the hotel dating back to the 1650s. Eclectic style, nothing matched so everything was in the right place. Each part played a role in making for a unique experience. Grounds of the hotel are a adventure in themselves. And the art is totally wimpse.

West Lodge B&B is a bed and breakfast offering accommodations near Hailsham. Each accommodations at the bed and breakfast has a private en-suite, garden views and free WiFi. The location was great for our purposes - close to the main road but you feel like you are tucked away in the country. Seven Sisters (Birling Gap) is only 20 minutes drive, and worth seeing. Several restaurants close by. The bathroom was designed beautifully. The room was clean and we were given access to a fridge, milk, coffee, tea, etc. The room was large enough to store luggage and sit to do desk work. The highlight for us was the breakfast - absolutely outstanding food. The hosts were very helpful and interesting people.

We stayed at Holmbush House as it was close to the village...
We stayed at Holmbush House as it was close to the village where we had lived for 15 years. We have since moved away & returned for a family celebration. It is well positioned if you want deep Sussex Weald explorations or just wish to enjoy the South Coast. Peaceful, tranquil & very, very restful.

The grounds are nice but the room wasn’t very clean; I found rubbish & lots of dust. The fan in bathroom was v dusty and so loud. The TV reception was very bad I could only get two channels. The bar & Reception was sticky and grimy to touch. The breakfast was very poor with a very slow domestic toaster, no staff, and a few boxes of cereal to choose to eat. I wouldn’t stay there again

Good Sizes room and bed but no hairdryer or trouser press as advertised. Couldn't work out how to adjust water temperature of shower. Would have been nice to have free bottles of water in the rooms too seeing weather was so hot. Good views from the rooms and set in beautiful grounds , would have had more time to,explore.

Be aware that breakfast is served quite late for a hotel. Did not like receptionist smoking at the front door of the hotel when i arrived did not like going through the restaurant to get to my room The room I was in had been nicely refurbished, it was a very big room for a hotel

Do not stay at the Boship Lions farm hotel unless you want...
Do not stay at the Boship Lions farm hotel unless you want to be woken up at 5.30am with the birds and ostriches singing and making a racket! The bed was hard, gaps under doorways would be a fire hazard. We intended to go to the Michelham Priory , but at the time of leaving the hotel it was closed. An ideal place to stopover.

Comfortable hotel although room 9 bathroom needs updating but they seem to be refurbishing. Food very good and loved decor in public areas. Also the fact that part of building very old. Lovely grounds

A very comfortable room with enough sockets, including USB, to match the standard of the rest. Friendly and efficient staff. The decor is an odd mixture of English semi-timbered, ( it's basically a 17th century farmhouse imprisoned in Victorian brickwork) and middle-eastern kitsch with a wildlife park attached. Lots to look at and wonder about. It's worth a visit just for this, and much better value than the Travelodge next door. While you're here try a visit to the parish church at Hellingly.
