Got a marriage proposal so for me I had the most wonderful time with my fiancé. Inverness itself was stunning. Nice town, high street. And was surprised with the quality of shops it had. We bought my engagement ring while we visited
Beautiful city, capital of the Highlands, wound by a breeze of history with multiple activities around the area. It feels like everything is a bit more laid back in that area, in contrast to busy cities. We only managed to see the Loch Ness and have a little hike on the nearby hills, also planned to visit the Culloden Battlefield but we didn't manage due to an issue with bus schedules. A good tip for future travellers: if staying in nearby villages and without a car, make sure you're aware of bus schedules as the last bus back may be quite early during the day (especially on Sundays). We ate at Johnny Foxes (delicious Cullen Skink and Chicken Rob Roy! although beware for the size of the portions, everything just looks too delicious on the menu!). We also ate at the Filling Station where we ordered a delicious vegan burger and a chicken wrap. One of the reasons we chose to stay in Inverness is because it has a good connection with big cities and it's enough to take just one not four buses to get there, in comparison to getting to the smaller villages around. Inverness is quite small, circa 26.5km^2. In Inverness we only really moved around the centre but it was quite easy to move around town, with a doable walking distance to facilities. The prices are also generally lower than in big cities. We will definitely come back as there is so many precious locations to visit in that area and a weekend is just not enough. Safe travels folks!
Inverness is one of the best place to say in Scottish highlands. Inverness shopping centre is amazing as well as it has all you need there. Must visit all little villages around Inverness. It was most memorable trip for me and my family.
I have visited Inverness a few times. I found people very helpful and supportive. Friendly and willing to help. I will be returning in a few weeks with a mother and daughter break of 4 days. Looking forward to my return.
Inverness is a beautiful city so small it's easy to walk around, lovely walk along the River Ness to the Free Botanical Gardens. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop and enjoy the Highlands hospitality
HAVING VISITED THIS CITY FOR MANY YEARS I ALWAYS ENJOY THE SETTING, VIEWS AND MANY SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND WALKS WE TAKE ON OUR WEEKENDS. WE ATE AT A CHINESE TAKEAWAY WHICH WAS VERY NICE AND ALSO AT REVOLUTION WHERE WE HAD LOVELY TAPAS AND COCKTAILS. SHOPS ARE GOOD CHOICE AND PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY.
The location was convenient and central. There is no carpark at the hotel but a public multi-storey carpark is very close by and the hotel is also close to bus and train stations as well as shops, bars & restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were of a reasonable size with modern en-suite facilities and good shower. Beds were comfortable and we wwere not disturbed by any external noise at night. The room rate was very reasonable compared to some other hotels in Inverness for an off-season stay.
The Radcliffe Hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay in Inverness. It was very cozy but had all the modern touches. The room we stayed in looked directly at the castle with nothing obstructing our view. The room was very large and perfect for a family! The hotel restaurant had a fantastic menu and served the best food we had while in Scotland!! The location is very central and an easy walk from both the train and bus stations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!
Inverness
great little BnB, good location just off of the old town. A bit of a walk but not bad at all. check in process was so easy, they texted me the key code and had the room ready ahead of time. it was really nice to just walk in and unpack, take a short nap and head back into town. breakfast was pretty typical for BnBs in Scotland, good simple breakfast food both hot and cold. the ladies did a great job and were very pleasant.
Our family of five stayed at Blackfriars for one evening on our 10 day road trip through Scotland. We knew we liked the photos we saw online, but what we saw in person was even better. Property is modern & clean..in a prime location for sightseeing and restaurants..and just an all around great place to stay in Inverness. We would definitely recommend Blackfriars :)
Inverness
The location was perfect for us to walk into Inverness, which gave a break from driving and public transport. Cathy is a lovely lady, a genuine Scot, warm hearted and kind. We drove to loch ness in the evening which was about 8 miles away. Her breakfast was amazing, we loved the fresh strawberries. We would definitely go back the next time we are in Scotland.
Nice location if you want to travel to other places from here. We went to Kyle of Lochalsh by train which was the reason we went to Inverness. Hotel is lovely, nice and helpful staff, cheap and nice food. We ended up staying an extra night because of unforeseen circumstances. 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station
Inverness
We loved our stay at Doric House. Great location, room and host Jamie. The breakfast was delicious and plenty on offer. Jamie was so knowledgeable and a powerhouse of information about Inverness and Scotland as a whole. We added sights to see to our stay and are grateful. Thanks Jamie for making our stay so memorable.
Beautiful building with great rooms. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We had some internet issues the first few nights and the manager was kind enough to upgrade us to a room with better signal and space. The food is great; we had breakfast every day at the hotel. Would recommend to anyone staying in Inverness.
Staff were so friendly when we arrived and welcoming to our dog. We only stayed one night to break our journey home from the north of Scotland and the hotel was perfect for this. Also the bathroom was huge with a great shower over a bath which I needed to wash my dogs legs when he had been for a walk😊
The most lovely room in an adorable hotel within walking distance to (5 mins) to the main bar, restaurant area of Inverness. Attached restaurant and bar were perfect. The room was so comfortable...things were updated while the historic charm was kept in tact.
Inverness
All of the staff were extremely welcoming and appeared genuinely concerned that guests have a good experience in Inverness and Scotland. We were even invited to a small barbecue in the back garden, with family and friends.
Inverness
beautiful location. Truly passionate about keeping this great place as the best B&B in Scotland. Love the garden and surroundings. Home made jams and fruit is fantastic
Inverness
The hospitality was far beyond expectations. Rachel catered to our every need. If we make it back to Scotland we will certainly return to Balvraid for more than 2 nights.
Everything. From arrival to departure, Graham could not have been more friendly or efficient. Our favourite hotel during our week touring Scotland.
The staff was lovely, food delicious (best breakfast we've had in Scotland), and the place felt like home.
Hotel was right in the shopping center of Inverness.
