Hotel in Inverness City Centre, Inverness
The Glen Mhor Hotel offers Victorian townhouses and apartments located on the banks of the River Ness, a 3-minute walk from Inverness city center and a 15-minute drive from Loch Ness. Lovely wide rooms with a view to the river. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant for dinner and breakfast, which was really complete. The hotel is situated just next to the city center. Also, the lady at the recepción was really kind (there was a small problem with the door key to the room, something with the sensor out of battery) and keen to resolve any issue promptly and efficiently (thank you!). We hope to come back soon, next time hopefully for a longer stay and so, continue exploring the highlands from Inverness.

Inverness is one of the best place to say in Scottish highlands. Inverness shopping centre is amazing as well as it has all you need there. Must visit all little villages around Inverness. It was most memorable trip for me and my family.
I have visited Inverness a few times. I found people very helpful and supportive. Friendly and willing to help. I will be returning in a few weeks with a mother and daughter break of 4 days. Looking forward to my return.
Inverness is a beautiful city so small it's easy to walk around, lovely walk along the River Ness to the Free Botanical Gardens. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop and enjoy the Highlands hospitality
HAVING VISITED THIS CITY FOR MANY YEARS I ALWAYS ENJOY THE SETTING, VIEWS AND MANY SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND WALKS WE TAKE ON OUR WEEKENDS. WE ATE AT A CHINESE TAKEAWAY WHICH WAS VERY NICE AND ALSO AT REVOLUTION WHERE WE HAD LOVELY TAPAS AND COCKTAILS. SHOPS ARE GOOD CHOICE AND PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY.
Inverness is a great city with lots to offer from the natural beauty of the area, particularly around Loch Ness and Drumnadrochit, to the rich history and magic (Culloden Battlefield and Loch Ness Exhibition centre were favs) and the cool and creative city centre (check out Kool Runnings restaurant for Jamaica meets the Highlands fusion food).
Best place to visit in Scotland. Castles and River "Ness" a beauty. picturesque everywhere. Snow capped mountains are a visual treat to eyes. St. Andrews Church, Dinosaur Kingdom, Urquhart castle, Loch Ness, Loch Lomand, Isle of Skye, Fort Williams are must visit places. Very good Indian restaurants "tiger on the wall", "cinnamon", "Rajah" and local restaurant "Girvani".
Inverness
View Cottage was beautifully laid out and spotlessly clean, and it more than lived up to its name as the view of the city and the far hills was excellent. Communication leading up to our stay was superb. Thank you for that, Blair. The location just above Castle Street put us close to some excellent restaurants including “27”, one recommended by Rick Steves in the Scotland guide book left conveniently in the living room of the cottage. I highly recommend this venue and would definitely stay there again if we’re back in the area.
Inverness
Ivanhoe was one of my favorite stays on my trip to Scotland. Directions and check-in were easy, Janette’s son was polite and helpful, room was cozy, clean, had its own bathroom, and nice personal touches. I got in late so missed a chance to get dinner on my way so the crisps and biscuits provided in my room were a godsend! The best part of all was the homemade breakfast and Janette’s smiling face which started my day off nicely. I would absolutely recommend and stay here again.
Inverness
Lovely little hostel right in the centre of Inverness. I was there for just one night during covid-19 so the place was very quiet, but it was still one of my favourite stays during my whole Scotland trip! Squeaky clean everywhere, rooms and beds are kept simple but super comfortable. And the staff was so welcoming, super helpful and just absolutely wonderful. Can’t recommend enough!
Inverness
quaint & whimsical; geometric & modern all at once. A skylight to listen to the raucous chorus of the gulls *and* enjoy the 18-hour daylight time. Lynda keeps her home in impeccable order and cleanliness. She was kind enough to gift me a book - when I asked if she had anything I could read; Frank get the door by Janey Godley is now my most treasured souvenir from Scotland.
This new hotel was beautiful in a very central location with on site parking. Our room was stunning and there was a fridge in there too, deco was very modern with a wooden floor. The bar/restaurant are looks into the river, beautiful views of Inverness. We had breakfast, this was very good and plenty to choose from and a reasonable price too!
Inverness
Lots of parking spaces at the hotel. Easy to collect the keys from the reception. Big kitchen/living area. Lovely clean bathrooms and bedroom. Huge comfy beds (not the sofa beds however). Perfect location for our group of 8, celebrating NYE in Inverness. Host allowed us to check out later without any additional charge
Inverness
The room was comfortable and quite spacious. A good place to start our journey through the North of Scotland. The shower was warm and the bathroom was very clean. For the budget price, the room was good and the staff really friendly. Super easy to get into central Inverness too.
Inverness
Everything was excellent! My family loved the place as much as I did. All our expectations were exceeded. I don’t want to compare but of all the accommodations we had during our Scotland trip, Taigh d’ Luxe was the best (noting that we stayed at H****n hotels in Glasgow.
Inverness
The room was clean and cozy, with a very comfortable bed. The location is walkable to Inverness city center, with lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was great, our favorite in Scotland.
Inverness
The host was very friendly - on arrival told me the quickest route to the old part of Inverness so I could easily orientate where I was - a very welcoming start to my visit to Scotland
Great lay over for onward travel through Inverness Airport. Easy access to hotel via short walk. Shuttle for Enterprise Rental (offsite) runs throughout the day.
The staff was lovely, food delicious (best breakfast we've had in Scotland), and the place felt like home.
Inverness
