Wonderful stay. The staff was so kind and helpful, even in an unfortunate situation when I lost my handbag in one of the day tours, they all helped me to track it and partially recover it. Special thanks to Steve! The hotel is beautiful and the room and the breakfast lovely! I highly recommend it for a special stay in Inverness.

Everything was modern and clean. I especially loved the bathroom (mirror lighting was great for makeup and shower pressure was nice). I loved that breakfast was included and it wasn't just cereal and drip coffee, you had latte machines and bacon and juice! Everything and everyone was great :) The location was also great, walking distance from everything including the train station.

I got a small really nice and comfortable room which had everything included tv with Netflix and a very nice bathroom with all the needed. The hotel location was perfect, not too far form the centre and in a very calm location. I could easily walk to city centre. Food at the restaurant was really delicious and the staff was really nice and and friendly. I will definitely come back =D.

FAQs about hotels in Inverness

Gateway to the Highlands and Loch Ness

A jewel with historic buildings and charming streets, Inverness is surrounded by a typical Scottish Highland landscape. It is located 10 km from Loch Ness, along the mouth of the Ness River and the Moray Firth coast. It is regarded as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom, and capital of the Highlands.

Take a walk around the Old Town, visit St Andrew’s Cathedral, and make a stopover in the charming Victorian Market. The Old High St Stephen's Church is the oldest building in town, and has been a religious site since pre-Christian times.

The Inverness Castle overlooks the river and is nowadays the seat of the Sheriff Court. A hotel in Inverness city centre is ideal to enjoy the different cultural and recreational activities in town.

Watch the Atlantic salmon jumping out the river near the Ness Islands, and try to catch a glimpse of the famous monster of Loch Ness. The Cairngorms National Park is 40 km away, and Chanonry Point is the best spot to watch dolphins, just 24 km away.

Inverness hotels include a large offer of small, cosy guest houses, B&B’s, and rural cottages, allowing a closer contact with the nature. Don’t miss the Inverness accommodation deals on Booking.com!

We thought of Inverness as a home base for our scheduled tours of the Highlands. The sad part was discovering how cute and fun Inverness is itself and not having enough free time to just enjoy being there. Next time I will add a few days to just explore Inverness as well as the sights in the HIghlands.

Inverness is great for walking. I visited the Botanic Gardens and walked back through the Ness Islands and along the river. Leakey's Bookshop is a must. Can highly recommend the restaurants Number 27 and Cafe 1. I also booked a day tour to Cawdor Castle and Clava Cairns.

The compact size of the city makes it easily manageable, with a range of eating options within 15 minutes or less from the property. Culloden trip was worthwhile, the Loch Ness boat trip somewhat underwhelming. Would have visited the Botanic Gardens on another occasion.

A lovely city and and a beautiful theatre which was our main reason for the visit. Only a 15 minute walk as well. The Crown Hotel was ideally placed for us but be ready to walk up and down hills if you don't want to use transport.

This boutique hotel is beautiful and set in what may well be the most beautiful village in Scotland. The staff are extremely caring and the standards are very high. The food is magnificent - the chef puts love into the food because you can literally taste it. Overall best place and best value for money we stayed in in Scotland.
