A small quiet town. Everything closes max by 5 pm except restaurant and bars. Centre to tour highlands. I do not recommend Isle of Skye to travellers who have been to major hill stations. Take a tour of NC 500, John o Groats, and in around. Its worth spending your time here.
Museum and art gallery was interesting. The walks along the River Ness and the Cathedral was a beautiful setting for a relaxing time away from the bustle of the city centre. Plenty of shops to pick up gifts and souvenirs. Friendly bars and restaurants for refreshments. Easy to get around as everything is quite compact. This was my second visit to Inverness and I will be back!Well worth the trip.
Beautiful buildings, lovely walks along river,if you drive here aviemore is a great place to visit for breathtaking scenery and lovely walks, Loch Ness also worth a visit. City itself lovely for a meal, afternoon in pub with live music. Shopping is pretty much same as everywhere with a lot of lovely gift shops. Tour bus available. If you like Indian food Rajah is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at, The Castle Tavern next to castle was a great venue with beer garden and live music serving lovely food. Would definitely recommend Inverness something for everyone
The weather was tricky but i was lucky to dodge the rain.City is small lot of historical buildings near each other in walking distance .The main why i was is in inverness was loch ness so i take the tour and it was good experience.
The River Ness offers great walks and is beautiful. Despite negative reviews from some, we were glad we took the 'Hop On Hop Off' bus as it took us down to Dochgarrock, the start of Loch Ness - twice, and also to the small but beautifully formed Botanical Gardens. For those of us who don't drive and can't walk long distances, this was helpful. A bus took us to the Nature Reserve on Beauly Firth; after a long wait we ordered a taxi back, and for two of us it cost little more than the bus. If I was returning to Inverness I would take a bus to Fort William and back along the Caledonian Canal.
Very pretty City with welcoming locals. Very much multicultural nowadays with lots of both, overseas tourists and staff from overseas. Restaurants good and plentiful. We ate at the Mustard Seed and the Encore de Vie, both were excellent with good service, excellent food and good value. The walks along the riverfront are pretty as are the Ness Gardens.
Inverness
The location was amazing - what a lovely apartment - can't praise it enough! The breakfast provided was fantastic and very unexpected - really thoughtful and perfect for the 3 of us. The apartment was warm and cosy, a real home from home, with superb fittings - we felt sad that we were only there for one night and would definitely visit / stay again - we were on a whistle-stop tour of Scotland and I would love to have had more time to explore Inverness, which looked beautiful as we whisked on to our next location...
Inverness
Absolutely everything about this property is perfect. So many thoughtful little details to make sure we felt at home. Pristine clean and beautifully set out in a quiet, peaceful street and the price was more than reasonable. We have just done a week in Scotland and we don’t like to spend a fortune on B&Bs, this property actually worked out cheaper per night than others and was far, far better value for money. No hesitation rating this property 10/10.
Great location in heart of of Inverness. The man checking us in was very friendly and helpful. He recommended a perfect dinner spot. The hotel has a cool vibe with a comfortable lobby to hang out in. Check out was super easy as the same man had taken care of it already. Rooms are well decorated but are on small size for two people if you are staying for an extended period of time. But for one or two nights, it was just fine.
Inverness
Plenty of space for 7 adults, we didn't use the hot tub or barbecue area as added after we booked and didn't feel the need to pay the additional optional extra, however the garden looked great. Very easy to walk to inverness and lovely walks along the river and canal. Good takeaway and restaurant service close by. Perfect house for our family get together in a beautiful part of Scotland.
Inverness
The location was very central to the city, within walking distance. Paul met us at the door and was very welcoming and helpful with information about current events in Inverness, parking near by, how to get around. he also gave me valuable info about other attractions in Scotland which made our overall trip more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious- the sweetest nectarine I had in Scotland.
Inverness
Lovely little hostel right in the centre of Inverness. I was there for just one night during covid-19 so the place was very quiet, but it was still one of my favourite stays during my whole Scotland trip! Squeaky clean everywhere, rooms and beds are kept simple but super comfortable. And the staff was so welcoming, super helpful and just absolutely wonderful. Can’t recommend enough!
Inverness
The locaction of the property it's in a very good place. It's close to the shops and atractions. The standard of the property it's very high, you can feel like at home. Definilitly I will recommend this place for a stay 😊 If I will be going to Scotland again and I will need to stop in Inverness I will try to stay again with Hill View 2 bedroom 😊
Loved everything about the hotel. It’s close to Inverness, on the Loch, staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Dinner was wonderful with great advice on Scotch. We had to leave before breakfast to catch a flight so they left a continental breakfast in our room the night before. A shout out to Martin, & Deborah.
The Heathmount Hotel is a cute boutique hotel feeling with great amenities and rooms. They have an outdoor area where you can enjoy a warm meal and nice drinks plus a very good breakfast. The rooms and bed where very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Following good Covid protocols, too! Would recommend.
We had a fantastic time staying here. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the room was a perfect size. Breakfast was delicious. What was most appreciated was the helpfulness of the staff: they helped us find a Loch Ness boat tour and gave us great recommendations for local walks. A perfect place to stay in Inverness.
The Royal Highland Hotel was a very elegant old "grand hotel" adjacent to the railroad station with a magnificent lobby. My room was nice, and the bed was very comfortable. Plus, the proximity to the rail station was great.
Inverness
This is a great wee, no frills cheap comfortable hotel, its not the Ritz and does not pretend to be, but if you need to stay in Inverness and on a budget, you cant beat this place for value for money, highly recommended.
Inverness
Best sleep I had in Scotland. Great bed and pillows. Protruding was close to center of town but still quiet. Kathleen is an amazing hostess. I would defiantly recommend Aberfeldy and hope to stay here again.
Inverness
A beautiful 4 star hotel in a fabulous location with sumptuous food. a truly wonderful and memorable two-night stay and I can’t wait to go back.
Very friendly and supportive staff, great rooms, nice breakfast - if I ever get back to Scotland I will definetly choose this hotel again.
Really good breakfast and hotel is in a lovely location by the river Ness in the centre of Inverness
Quiet location and beat the Inverness hotel prices hands down. Very good value for money.
Inverness
Rooms were a good size and they served the best porridge we had in Scotland!
