Loch Ness Country House Hotel, The Steadings, at The Grouse & Trout, and North Kessock Hotel got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Inverness.
Inverness is only 3 hours from where I stay in the Isle of Skye. I have friends and family there. The purpose of this trip was to visit a friend in hospital. I always find Inverness a friendly place. I might be going back in a few days to help my future daughter-in-law choose a wedding dress along with my daughter.
A small quiet town. Everything closes max by 5 pm except restaurant and bars. Centre to tour highlands. I do not recommend Isle of Skye to travellers who have been to major hill stations. Take a tour of NC 500, John o Groats, and in around. Its worth spending your time here.
Museum and art gallery was interesting. The walks along the River Ness and the Cathedral was a beautiful setting for a relaxing time away from the bustle of the city centre. Plenty of shops to pick up gifts and souvenirs. Friendly bars and restaurants for refreshments. Easy to get around as everything is quite compact. This was my second visit to Inverness and I will be back!Well worth the trip.
Beautiful buildings, lovely walks along river,if you drive here aviemore is a great place to visit for breathtaking scenery and lovely walks, Loch Ness also worth a visit. City itself lovely for a meal, afternoon in pub with live music. Shopping is pretty much same as everywhere with a lot of lovely gift shops. Tour bus available. If you like Indian food Rajah is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at, The Castle Tavern next to castle was a great venue with beer garden and live music serving lovely food. Would definitely recommend Inverness something for everyone
The weather was tricky but i was lucky to dodge the rain.City is small lot of historical buildings near each other in walking distance .The main why i was is in inverness was loch ness so i take the tour and it was good experience.
The River Ness offers great walks and is beautiful. Despite negative reviews from some, we were glad we took the 'Hop On Hop Off' bus as it took us down to Dochgarrock, the start of Loch Ness - twice, and also to the small but beautifully formed Botanical Gardens. For those of us who don't drive and can't walk long distances, this was helpful. A bus took us to the Nature Reserve on Beauly Firth; after a long wait we ordered a taxi back, and for two of us it cost little more than the bus. If I was returning to Inverness I would take a bus to Fort William and back along the Caledonian Canal.
Good, comfortable room with enormous bathroom featuring bath and separate walk-in shower. Helpful staff, large on-site car park, and well located being under 30 minute's drive from Inverness Airport. Large elegant hotel with ample, yet cosy and inviting areas to sit and chat in the guest lounge area. Post stay invoicing and charging was accurate and hassle-free despite checkout and key drop-off occurring without any staff member present at 5am in the morning.
Inverness
Absolutely everything about this property is perfect. So many thoughtful little details to make sure we felt at home. Pristine clean and beautifully set out in a quiet, peaceful street and the price was more than reasonable. We have just done a week in Scotland and we don’t like to spend a fortune on B&Bs, this property actually worked out cheaper per night than others and was far, far better value for money. No hesitation rating this property 10/10.
Inverness
We loved how cozy the place was, it was the perfect accomodation for our first trip ever to Scotland. The hosts were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The room was amazing, nicely decorated and very clean. It definitely exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was very varied; we liked the cooked breakfast a lot. All in all, we got great value for the money we spent and would absolutely be happy to return here again, for a longer trip.
Inverness
Everything was above our expectations. We were made to feel totally at home by Margaret who ran the accommodation. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. There was an excellent choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Good safe parking and convenient for Inverness and the surrounding area. The best accommodation we have had touring Scotland. Highly recommended.
Inverness
Property was centrally located and easy to get around the various sites/restaurants in Inverness and then easily make an exit towards Loch Ness activities. Communication with owner was efficient and all problems (minor!) resolved quickly! We appreciated the stock of necessary items (sugar, coffee, tea, laundry pods) as this made our stay easier.
Inverness
Me and 4 of my Mates stayed here for 3 night while we ride up and around Scotland, the place was really good, the staff were on the phone and came to sort out a tiny problem we have straight away (a picky problem), if you are going to Inverness I highly recommend this place, the area is quite so it’s even good for a family with kids
A lovely hotel ideally situated in the centre and overlooking the River. Our stay was just an overnight stop off to break up the journey to John O Groats. We arrived after dark so were welcomed with the beauty of Inverness by night. Would most definitely recommend a visit to the City and The Mercure Hotel is a perfect place to stay
The Columbia Hotel is located on the river and very close to several excellent restaurants. My room faced the river and had a great view. I enjoyed it very much. The immediate area had a great historic pub and two of the finest restaurants in Inverness. A very fine stay.
The staff is the highlight of this hotel, conveniently located adjacent to the Inverness Airport. From the desk staff to the restaurant staff, they were all professional, cheerful, and helpful. Bravo to the folks who hired and trained them!
Inverness
This is a great wee, no frills cheap comfortable hotel, its not the Ritz and does not pretend to be, but if you need to stay in Inverness and on a budget, you cant beat this place for value for money, highly recommended.
Inverness
Best sleep I had in Scotland. Great bed and pillows. Protruding was close to center of town but still quiet. Kathleen is an amazing hostess. I would defiantly recommend Aberfeldy and hope to stay here again.
I was at the beginning of a three week cycle tour of Scotland, having arrived down the road at Inverness train station (0.6 miles). So it was easy to get to the hotel. The breakfast was excellent.
Comfortable beds Good bathroom Had 2 meals in bar and 2 breakfasts, all of which were excellent. Very friendly staff. Best hotel we've stayed in in Scotland, would definitely recommend.
The Royal Highland is a beautiful old-style hotel. The rooms are small but well maintained. This is a great place to stay while visiting Inverness.
Central location was great for exploring Inverness. Top marks for room & hotel facilities, staff very approachable & helpful.
Really good breakfast and hotel is in a lovely location by the river Ness in the centre of Inverness
Inverness
Everything was in perfect order. The owner is a superhost and the accommodation was well worth the price and is set in a simply picturesque location. I have travelled extensively and this is probably the best place I've ever stayed in when taking the cost, location and general accommodation amenities into account. Will definitely be going back in the summer.
Amazing location alongside river ness and the waterside restaurant just next to it. I would love to come back for my next highland trip
Clean and comfortable with friendly staff
Everything! This is a really good hotel.
