Hotel in Keynsham
Dating back to 1609, this charming manor is believed to be the oldest dwelling house in Keynsham Village. It retains period features like oak beams, and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site. I try to always stay at the manor house when I'm in keynsham on business. I love it there, and I'm always well taken care of.

River and canal walks are great. Interesting pubs, villages and churches dotted around (e.g. Hanham lock and Hanham Court). Interersting to get a bit of history of the old Abbey and the Fry's chocolate factory (now appartments). Just north of Keynsham, the Bristol to Bath old railway path was appealing, but actually was so well used by cyclists (that's not a complaint) that that wasn't so pleasant to walk. If you like old steam trains though, there's a couple of nice old stations with working trains. There's a surpisingly good and tasty selection of international and UK food on the otherwise drab, standard, 1960s Keynsham high street. We went to a Mexican, a Chinese and a craft coffee shop.
It was only a quick visit, as we were taking our Daughter to university in Bath Spa. I was a great location as our Son lives in Bristol. This is an ideal central spot for both of the cities. The area has plenty of facilities and looked very clean.
Keynsham is about 6 or 7 miles outside bath with good bus connections to Bristol Airport, Bristol and Bath It is a pleasant residential area. The restaurant in the place where we stayed was popular with local residents as well as guests.
The area is close to attractions that we may otherwise not be able to see, such as SS Great Britain, the Avon Valley Railway, We can use our bus passes which makes getting about a lot easier. Bath is only a short distance away but we did not have long enough their to make a trip worthwhile. The town has a good selection of shops and restaurants, although some were closed on the Sunday.
Keynsham is just a town, not a lot there. good centre for exploring Bristol/Bath area which is why i chose to stay there. have to say that the signposting on the roads in the area is inadequate making touring by car harder than it should be. Bath city is particularly bad on this.
The town is small and I only drove though on my way to the school I was visiting. The area around Keynsham is pleasantly rural, even though it is close to Bristol. I wasn’t there long enough to sample the town’s facilities.
