Hotel in Kingussie
Situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, one of the last truly unspoiled parts of the world, the hotel looks out across the picturesque Spey Valley to the 18th century Ruthven Barracks. The hotel has real character, with friendly and welcoming staff. Location is excellent, with good parking. Very comfy bed and clean room. We had a lovely evening meal (mine was very good vegan alternative) in the main dining room, which has lovely paintings and atmosphere. Very good value for room and meal. The bar has excellent range of malts etc. There was a pub quiz and live music in the ballroom. We will definitely book again.

This Highland retreat has secluded grounds and views over the mountains. Columba House offers free WiFi and free parking. brilliant, the key safe check in system was so efficient. Booking, check in and leaving was so smooth. All the information I needed was right there. The extra touches like grab and go coffee in the morning was very welcome. Although i didnt interact with any staff I could tell the hotel had went to a lot of effort to look after their guests.

Sutherlands Guest House is located in Kingussie in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. It offers luxury rooms and a garden. Ruby and Raymond were very friendly & exceptionally good hosts - it was easy to feel at home with them. The guesthouse and its facilities were immaculate, breakfasts delicious, Ruby was very kind to provide many tips regarding the points of interests and restaurants to try. The location is perfect - just 10mins walk from the Kingussie high street and 15 mins walk from the train station. The house is just few minutes from the edge of the forest and hiking trails up to the surrounding mountains. We also felt very safe in terms of Covid19. We can't wait to come back to stay with R & R again!

Featuring free WiFi, Dunmhor Guest House is located in Kingussie, 3 mi from Highland Folk Museum. Free private parking is available on site. Every room is equipped with a flat-screen TV and DVD... This is probably one of the best ever guesthouses we stayed with the family. Situated in traditional Scottish villa it has a few cozy rooms, home-cooked tasty breakfast, very pleasant friendly and helpful owners and even a library in the hall! The scenery around is beautiful with a few hikes reachable by foot and much more just within half an hour drive.
A great base for walking, birding and relaxing. We came by train, no need for a car. Good local bus services. Plenty of walks for 4-5 days. Some lovely shops, and a fantastic farmer's market (if you're there on a 3rd Sunday of the month or Halloween). Excellent fish & chip shop, a very fine Bistro. I hear the Chinese Takeaway is the best in northern Scotland.
Set not too far from Avemore and Newtownmore and in the heart of the Cairngorms. A lovely little town with very friendly locals. Some nice little shops including a lovely small bookshop. There is also a fish and chip shop(very popular), Chinese takeaway (which is really good) and a small co op. Several really quality charity shops also are excellent. Recommended
The McInnes House Hotel in Kingussie serves lovely meals. Kingussie is a very quiet place although the chippy is always busy. There is also a co-op. We went to visit Aviemore, Loch Morloch. Nethy bridge. There is alot of lovely walks through out the area. Pine Trees forest is lovely if you want to explore. The road to the back of the Duke of Gordon hotel takes you to a lovely caravan park. We used the hotel as a base and travelled to Gairloch and Loch Carron.
Amazing scenery surrounding the village with lots of lovely walks. An ideal place to visit the surrounding area. It is a quite village but has all the shops you would want practically. It also has some delightful shops to visit for gifts and a great second hand book shop. Food in the Duke was good and The Bistro served lovely food. Both cafes in the village served very good food. I would hope to return again. stayed for a week but could have stayed longer. I was fortunate to be there when there was a market on which only happens once a month.
The history of Kingussie is vast its an enchanting area where Kings held court. Strathspey railway near by a great day out on a steam train. The landscape countryside is awesome. I liked the area very much.
The hotel is in a good area but it seems nobody has been taking care of it for a while. Mouldy bathrooms, uncleaned carpets and broken furniture around the public areas. Restaurant not working as it was the chef's day off. Even the bar looked like a run down pub. Unless a substantial renovation takes place avoid.
The room was large and excellent super king-sized bed. We only stayed for one night as we cut our trip short. Nothing to do with the hotel we had already been traveling for over a week. No staff in the hotel when we arrived but easy to book in as a code was provided for the key safe. Parking was available right outside of the room (we were in an external building with a separate door)

Lovely room, quiet neighbourhood, pleasant surroundings, and in spite of being only a few hundred yards from the middle of Kingussie. The room was spacious, there was a sitting room, plates and a table provided for me to eat my own food off, and the hosts were welcoming, and interested in why I was there.

Well-equipped log cabin had good facilities for food preparation (we arrived late so only used tea and coffee) and good WiFi. The hotel is in the heart of town, close to a Co-Op open till 10. Easy check-in and easy to find location after long trip.
Staff was incredibly helpful. Told us of Cafe Bistro restaurant nearby and even phoned to book a table for us. The restaurant was excellent and very well priced. Comfortable and quiet night. Bathroom clean and we'll stocked with toiletries.
The hotel was extremely comfortable and all the staff were very helpful and friendly! Food was great, both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant! Everything was very clean and the location was perfect for visiting the highlands!
Location is ideal for the wildlife park and Aviemore. Dez and Sinead are excellent hosts and their hotel is spotless. Meals were great too and our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Will certainly be back again soon!
