Located at the head of Loch Leven, the area surrounding MacDonald Hotel & Cabins offers some of Scotland’s most stunning views. The staff were sure friendly and helpful, and really accommodating to myself and my partner and were great about letting us have our dog stay, they even left dog biscuits and a bed for her. Would definitely recommend if travelling with a pet!!!
On an acre of beautiful grounds, Tigh na Cheo also boasts views of the surrounding Highlands. At the gateway to the West Highland Way footpath, there is a free parking lot and bike storage. Great breakfast, super friendly and helpful host. Really liked the room decor. Nice touch with the bath salts which were great after a long day of hiking
Overlooking the scenic Highland village of Kinlochleven, West Highland Lodge offers peaceful hostel style accommodations. Free parking is possible on site, and free WiFi is accessible throughout. Good point of view on the scenery! Fantastic and complete kitchen.
Located in Kinlochleven 30 minutes’ drive from the historic town of Fort William, Allt na Leven Guest House offers easy access to hill walking, fishing and water sports at Loch Leven and River Leven. The most beautiful b&b on the route. Such a fine room. Wonderful breakfast. Excellent hosts. Everything more then ok.
Located on the West Highland Way, the Blackwater Hostel is located in Kinlochleven. It offers free WiFi and free onsite parking. Each private room includes a TV and a shower room. Very friendly staff, the whole hostel was perfectly clean, great fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, great view from our room (n 4) and close proximity to the city center. We could not be happier with our stay.
Located in Kinlochleven, 18 mi from Glencoe Mountain Resort, Edencoille Guest House provides accommodations with a shared lounge, free private parking and a garden. The edencoille property was located in a very beautiful quaint location. We got the garden view room and it was so pretty, the bed was very comfortable and all amenities were taken care of well. For a BnB it had every amenity you could think of, it had foot spas too. :) For breakfast we had an option to choose from full Scottish breakfast etc or continental. It was an extensive spread. We absolutely loved staying at this place.
Located in the scenic village of Kinlochleven, Glamping Pods offers self-catering accommodations with free onsite parking and free WiFi in public areas. Check in was so easy, and my glamping pod was spotlessly clean and cozy! Would book again in a heartbeat. Excellent staff, lovely facilities, and serene spot!
MacDonald Cabins offers pet-friendly accommodations in Kinlochleven. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site. Other facilities at MacDonald Cabins include a terrace. The host was really nice. Accommodation was clean, toilets ok but the best was the view from the cabins. We were 13 people in total and all of us had a great time there. Would like to go back in the future.
We used it as a stop on West Highland Way on our route to Fort William. Kinlochlevan is a quiet, small town at the head of a loch, with 2 pubs, chippie and co-op. It’s claim to fame is being the first town in the world to have all houses connected to electricity.
we arrived on the friday to gateway hotel ,room was 1st class nice and clean, shower was top class also had access to small garden area which we both loved, staff in the bar made us truly welcome , evening meals and breakfast were to die for , we were made most welcome from everyone , will definitely recommend this accomodation to everyone , we will be back
A lovely Highland village, with outstanding scenery situated on Scotlands first official long-distance route, the West Highland Way. There are 2 pubs, Co-op, the Ice Factor, cafes and lots of accommodation. A great space do exploring the surrounding mountains.
Very chilled out place, mostly for backpackers as it's a great spot to take the West Highland Way. Also close to Glencoe and Fort William. However a car is necessary as there is only one taxi and buses don;t have a convenient schedule. We used the taxi driver who was great, and we ended up taking him along with us for a short hike where he shared local stories and historical info abt the area! He also charged us for only half the ride from Kinlochleven to Glencoe and back. Don't miss a visit to The Bothy bar! Amazing view to the lake!
Kinlochleven is a stunning little village set in the mountains of the Scottish Highlands, and on the Eastern end of Loch Leven. It is also very close (~15 min bus ride) from Glencoe, another beautiful village with fascinating history. There's a nice walking track around the town which can be walked in 40 minutes or so. There is also a highly-rated ice-climbing centre (Ice Factor) in the town, but unfortunately it was not open when I went there, despite Google information stating it would be open! To be honest, with this closed, there isn't a whole lot of 'touristy' things to do, besides from walk around and soak up the beautiful scenery, or pop into one of the pubs. I'd definitely recommend it for a 1-2 night stay though.
Views and walks were stunning, Places to eat and drink were very limited and very poor value for money, the service in the one and only venue we managed to get booked in was appalling, even the local fish and chip shop had run out of fish and chips?? We were forced by no choice to eat from coop, this is not our idea of a holiday, we walk all day to not have to cook our own meals, We were not advised that restaurants were limited otherwise we would have re evaluated our holiday,
Great breakfast, super friendly and helpful host. Really liked the room decor. Nice touch with the bath salts which were great after a long day of hiking
