On an acre of beautiful grounds, Tigh na Cheo also boasts views of the surrounding Highlands. At the gateway to the West Highland Way footpath, there is a free parking lot and bike storage. Great location, lots of walks nearby. Handy for the west highland way. Facilities and bus stop near by. Great views from the bedroom and the guest house had everything we needed. Excellent value for money, clean and comfortable. Staff are very knowledgeable about the local area and couldn’t be more helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.
MacDonald Cabins offers pet-friendly accommodations in Kinlochleven. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site. Other facilities at MacDonald Cabins include a terrace. Great options for breakfast, the bunkhouse was comfy, and the location was perfect for the West Highland Way.
Offering free WiFi and river views, Etive Pod En Suite Glamping is an accommodations set in Kinlochleven. Excellent pod with everything we needed. Great information provided in advance of our trip from the host to ensure we knew exactly where we were going and could make the most of our stay
Located within 24 mi of Ben Nevis, Nevis Pod Ensuite Glamping offers accommodations with a kitchenette. Complimentary WiFi is offered. Check in went smoothly due to earlier communication from the host and the pod was perfect and as a bonus it had WiFi and Netflix. The bathroom was a tad small for 6'2" me, but that's a personal thing I guess and it is, after all, a pod. I thought that the place looked a little like something that a Hobbit would live in, but it also had that hobbit-like comfort and hospitality going for it too.
Located on the West Highland Way, the Blackwater Hostel is located in Kinlochleven. It offers free WiFi and free onsite parking. Each private room includes a TV and a shower room. Very friendly staff, the whole hostel was perfectly clean, great fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, great view from our room (n 4) and close proximity to the city center. We could not be happier with our stay.
Located 3.7 mi from Steall Waterfall and 689 feet from The Ice Factor, West Highland Way Holidays offers accommodations in Kinlochleven. Free WiFi is provided. WOW this property was outstanding in terms of cleanliness, comfort and facilities, the best I've ever stayed at in fact. It was clear the lady owner had put a great deal of thought into providing the best possible experience for her guests and the attention to detail was second to none. Being a photographer I loved all the black and white photos of Kinlochleven from days gone by with pictures of the area and locals in their period dress. I also loved the quirkiness of the entrance and one wall of the bathroom that is papered in detailed maps of Scotland and the local Glencoe area. The furniture in the property was also of a very standard with solid oak furniture in the bedroom and an extremely comfortable bed. Kinlochleven where the property is located is a lovely little village in a very picturesque location. There are ample facilities with a Co-Op just a few minutes along the road from the property and a pub doing meals or a chip shop around the corner, there is also a cash machine outside the post office located behind the Co-Op. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and I shall be back!
Located 19 mi from Glencoe Mountain Resort and 29 mi from Steall Waterfall, firwood cottage provides accommodations located in Kinlochleven. The host thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. Thanks for the Prosecco which was a lovely touch. Would stay here again
Located in Kinlochleven in the Highlands region, Na Caillich features a patio. Set 19 mi from Glencoe Mountain Resort, the property offers a garden and free private parking. Essentials in the kitchen and bathroom were plentiful. Friendly neighbours were welcoming and helpful with local places, history, etc. The owners left good instructions for appliances. Plenty of books and DVDs were in the lounge for relaxation time. Will return to this property for another holiday if possible. Loved this property and cute town!
A lovely Highland village, with outstanding scenery situated on Scotlands first official long-distance route, the West Highland Way. There are 2 pubs, Co-op, the Ice Factor, cafes and lots of accommodation. A great space do exploring the surrounding mountains.
Very chilled out place, mostly for backpackers as it's a great spot to take the West Highland Way. Also close to Glencoe and Fort William. However a car is necessary as there is only one taxi and buses don;t have a convenient schedule. We used the taxi driver who was great, and we ended up taking him along with us for a short hike where he shared local stories and historical info abt the area! He also charged us for only half the ride from Kinlochleven to Glencoe and back. Don't miss a visit to The Bothy bar! Amazing view to the lake!
Kinlochleven is a stunning little village set in the mountains of the Scottish Highlands, and on the Eastern end of Loch Leven. It is also very close (~15 min bus ride) from Glencoe, another beautiful village with fascinating history. There's a nice walking track around the town which can be walked in 40 minutes or so. There is also a highly-rated ice-climbing centre (Ice Factor) in the town, but unfortunately it was not open when I went there, despite Google information stating it would be open! To be honest, with this closed, there isn't a whole lot of 'touristy' things to do, besides from walk around and soak up the beautiful scenery, or pop into one of the pubs. I'd definitely recommend it for a 1-2 night stay though.
Views and walks were stunning, Places to eat and drink were very limited and very poor value for money, the service in the one and only venue we managed to get booked in was appalling, even the local fish and chip shop had run out of fish and chips?? We were forced by no choice to eat from coop, this is not our idea of a holiday, we walk all day to not have to cook our own meals, We were not advised that restaurants were limited otherwise we would have re evaluated our holiday,
Great little village at the foot of the mountains & to the eastern side of Loch Leven (such a beautiful loch). Great for hiking, photography and water sports. Lovely little walk to Grey Mare's Tail waterfall (car park at St Pauls Church).
We were only staying there for a night as part of a large group so we could start the 3 Peaks challenge the following day, so we didn't really get to explore the area at all. That said, our hotel was amazing and the views of the surrounding landscape are incredible so I would recommend Kinlochleven to anyone who needs a short, affordable stay in that area of Scotland.
