This sensitively restored Victorian hotel is set in 5 acres of gardens and woodland, with stunning views over Carmarthen Bay and beyond to North Devon. The people and the food make this place . The rooms are tired but clean and the staff amazing . Try the lava read hash with cockles for breakfast or the amazing croissants .

Located in Laugharne, The Boat House Bed and Breakfast has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. Great 3 night stay, our hosts were first class from the moment we arrived. Our room on the first floor( Olive Room) was spacious with views to the Castle and Car Park. Breakfasts cooked to order - a lovely start to the day. our hosts were very informative on places to visit and local places to eat in the evening. We had our own key to come and go as we pleased, due to Covid restrictions our room was not serviced during our stay but anything we needed for the hospitality tray etc was ready available to collect. Another nice touch..... fresh milk from the fridge in the breakfast room. All in all a great stay. We look forward to visiting again. Many thanks.

Featuring accommodations with a patio, Gwalia House is located in Laugharne. It provides free WiFi and a garden. Gwalia House is a beautiful 'home away from home'. I visited with my partner and two other couples, which is an annual thing for us! We've never managed to all have a double bed, so to each have our own beautiful room with HUGE beds was absolute bliss! The kitchen is stunning, and we spent lots of time in the upstairs living room, the window looking out onto the streets is lovely. The location is lovely, we took our dogs and they loved the local beaches. It rained for some days, and was super sunny other days but the rain didn't bother us as we were so close to the local shop/restaurants!
Beautiful place to visit , amazing castle , friendly people running the pub, cafes, and little super market. The views are stunning looking out from the estuary and Dylan Thomas’s hut well worth a look as well as the house ..
The access to Dylan Thomas’s studio/boathouse was a very pleasant walk with fantastic views over the estuary which included a fantastic array of both seabirds and passerines. There were plenty of benches and tables along the coastal path and all the cafes and pubs were very very pet friendly.
The hotel (Browns) was in a great location close to the foreshore. February may not be the best time to visit, as there were not many places open apart from the useful convenience store. Dylan Thomas' Boathouse, now a museum well worth a visit. and there are great walks, including the Wales Coast Path and Dylan's birthday walk.
Peace and quiet, views, walks and general atmosphere. All of the Dylan Thomas connections. Choice of cafes etc. serving local food and Thai plus fish and chips. Brown's Hotel is lovely to eat at or stay. Laugharne is in a great location to provide a base for visits to other parts of this beautiful area.
Brilliant for fans of Dylan Thomas ...a 'must do' - beautiful setting on the estuary with lots of walks (lost of steep hills so take walking boots!) A peaceful haven for walker and dog owners alike , but remarkably clean. We took advice from web re restaurants and were not disappointed - Browns Hotel and Poons street food were both exceptional
Didn't get much chance to sample Laugharne itself, but went in for a meal one evening which was excellent (Dexters at Brown's Hotel). There are several pubs and restaurants, probably enough for a couple of nights, but it is not a particularly lively place. Not a criticism, just an observation. We went back in after checking out to have a walk around the estuary in the morning and that was lovely; you can walk along the edge for a couple of miles up to Dylan's (Thomas) writing shed overlooking the water; he is buried in the town also. Plus there is a nice castle ruin to visit, on the edge of the estuary. I managed to fly my drone along the estuary without any trouble and got some nice shots of the castle. Quite a few people seem to stop off here for the day as they pass through in camper vans. In summary, there are some interesting things to do to pass a day, so would be a good stopping off point as part of a run along the coast.

Liked the location, the cleanliness of the property and the property itself. Was like home from home. We were contacted by our hosts throught our stay to ensure everything was ok. Even had a text to wish us a safe journey home......nice touch. The icing on the cake was the beautiful garden in which we were able to enjoy in the warm Welsh sunshine. We sat out on the garden bench to enjoy a cup off coffee after our enjoyable days out to the numerous places of interest in and around Laugharne.

We have stayed here before and loved every minute of our stay, we decided to come back for a short break, and again was not disappointed! ... Again loved our stay, staff very friendly, food excellent, lovely breakfast, comfortable bed, . However, this time we had a double room on the ground floor, whereas last time we had the 'Tower' room (that's what we call it).. and we do prefer the Tower Room, we will definitely be back as soon as we can.. back to the 'Tower' Room :)

The property was stunning, beautiful views from every window. Beds were extremely comfortable. Location was great, with shops, restaurants/bars very close to the property. We drove out to Tenby which was only 30mins away, but the beach at pendine sands was only a 10min drive Laugharne castle was great and you can see it from the property, plenty of walking routes in the area. Lastly the hot tub was a great touch! 100% recommend.

location great for exploring the south Wales area, which is a lovely part of the world. Easy access to Laugharne but outside the village, so very quiet. The apartment is perfect for a couple and the hosts are so thoughtful.
