This sensitively restored Victorian hotel is set in 5 acres of gardens and woodland, with stunning views over Carmarthen Bay and beyond to North Devon. The property itself was wonderful. It was outside of town so it had a privacy feel. The room had wonderful fresh air, and the bed must’ve been very comfortable because I don’t remember being miserable. That’s always saying a lot isn’t it?

A sociable, decently run and welcoming, ancient township. Georgian architecture, a huge, sparkling estuary, several walks, and proximity to open countryside, Pendine beach, and other very good coastal venues. The Brown’s Hotel is delightful to stay in, and staff are bright, efficient, responsive and rather kind. It is extremely well run; it’s restaurant menu is creative and elegant.
Several places to eat, and a few pubs. A place of historical interest, and for nature lovers. The beautiful castle ruins set by the estuary is a lovely scene, with plenty of bird life. Changing scene, with the tide, and extensive areas when the tide is out for wading birds. A good place for walking too, including the famous Dylan Thomas Birthday Walk.
Great base location to stay to explore the area for cycling, driving around and walking; day trips to explore coastline Pendine Beach, Amorth, Saunders Foot, Tenby. Laugharne is great for Dylan Thomas links and birthday walk; castle. Recommend Browns Hotel and 3 Mariners Pub .
Beautiful place to visit , amazing castle , friendly people running the pub, cafes, and little super market. The views are stunning looking out from the estuary and Dylan Thomas’s hut well worth a look as well as the house ..
The access to Dylan Thomas’s studio/boathouse was a very pleasant walk with fantastic views over the estuary which included a fantastic array of both seabirds and passerines. There were plenty of benches and tables along the coastal path and all the cafes and pubs were very very pet friendly.
The hotel (Browns) was in a great location close to the foreshore. February may not be the best time to visit, as there were not many places open apart from the useful convenience store. Dylan Thomas' Boathouse, now a museum well worth a visit. and there are great walks, including the Wales Coast Path and Dylan's birthday walk.
Laugharne
The property was stunning, beautiful views from every window. Beds were extremely comfortable. Location was great, with shops, restaurants/bars very close to the property. We drove out to Tenby which was only 30mins away, but the beach at pendine sands was only a 10min drive Laugharne castle was great and you can see it from the property, plenty of walking routes in the area. Lastly the hot tub was a great touch! 100% recommend.
Loved the hot tub - perfect way to relax after a long day sight seeing. The accommodation was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great location with countryside views and within walking distance to Laugharne. The hosts were friendly and made sure we we had everything we needed for our stay.

Cooked options we tried were excellent. It's a pity there was no fruit or yogurt but it maybe due to being so quiet during pandemic. Location was perfect In the countryside, but a few minutes drive into Laugharne and not far from some lovely beaches and villages
