At the foot of Mount Snowdon, the Royal Victoria Hotel is cradled between Lakes Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peries. Bedrooms have baths and showers and satellite TVs. Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodated changes at short notice. Dinner was great, as was the breakfast! It just opposite the Snowdon railway station and the hotel has a castle within it’s grounds which we highly recommended a visit to!

We went to Llanberis to go up Snowdon, but the weather was against us, but we found that there was plenty to do within the area or only a short drive away. The locals were friendly and we found places to eat that we really enjoyed, especially the Y Gwynedd Inn.
Beautiful scenery, not many touristy shops which we would have liked to liked to browse. Would have liked to taken the train on Snowdon but hadn’t booked. Would prefer it though when fully to reach summit. We visited Portmerion shame about COVID causing closures there. We had evening meal at hotel which was good and better than looking around in evening with darkness and didn’t see many places to have a meal. Would want to make sure we booked earlier for train ride on Slowden. Not much to see in Llanber so car ride around the area.
Its more than a rest stop for climbers. Other attractions include lonely tree, the secret bomb storage and the waterfall. easy to get to Caernarfon and Bethesda for zip lining. Friendly locals, fresh air with valley views where ever you look.
Great place, first time I've been here. A small Welsh village, just a high street, a few shops a few pubs, but full of character. I went on the steam railway round the lake, and would have liked to have gone on the train ride through the mountains too, but didn't have time. Likewise, i started a walk through the Snowdonia mountains, got so far, but again, had to come back through lack of time, But i treated this like a reconasaince mission, hoping one day to return and spend more time here. this was one of the best places I visited in Wales.
Llanberis is a good town to visit if you are also going to spend time in the mountains. I visited a chip shop while it was raining and stayed at a hotel. The trail from Llanberis to the top of Snowdon is the least steep way up the mountain but there are other, shorter routes with less climbing.
Although signal was an issue, our car had a satnav, so we had to plan ahead with location postcodes before we set off. Keep a look out for sheep, they are everywhere lol! The location is stunning with lots of places to explore. Must haves include a good pair of walking boots, and lake shoes as there are some beautiful lakes around the area. Overall a great vibe, friendly people and very clean.
Very cosy and super cute apartment. Llanberis is a great location for climbing Snowdon, and also for discovering Snowdonia. The apartment is located in the High Street with shops and restaurants close by - and a very good fish and chip shop opposite! The apartment itself is lovely - clean and bright with lovely decor, very cosy and with everything provided for a comfortable stay. The owner also kindly provides a parking permit which can be used in many car parks in the area. We would definitely recommend a stay in this apartment.
We went to Llanberis for easy access to Snowdon paths and the location of Dolafon hotel was fantastic for hikers like us (especially nice that the hotel is right there after descending the mountain!). The host were extremely kind and caring and they offered home cooked breakfast, super nom! The bathrooms were really clean and can do steamy showers, best thing for tired hikers. Also there was Netflix on the TV so we were able to connect it to our account.
The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice as were the meals in the bar and restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and took great pains to ensure that we were happy. The room was warm and comfortable. The location is ideal for climbing Snowdon. For all these reasons I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return in the future.
Very clean and lovely little place. We have never been to llanberis and we came to hike snowdonia. Our host Holly welcomed us and told us about the area. Couldn’t fault it. Amazing place if you are looking for a cozy welcoming stay in llanberis. We will be back :) Thank you
Fab location. Llanberis is a gorgeous village and this place was just a 10 minute walk to the Llanberis path up to Snowdon. The owner was a lovely chatty lady always available at the ring of a bell.
Check in was via email.. But we did not check email before arriving. Very easy once we got message. We were there to Climb Snowdon. We made it. Wind and rain was brutal
The room is a bit big, we are very happy to stay for 4 persons and the location's the best! We can tracking from the car park with wonderful view ever!
It was what an old style hotel should be. Nice clean room, great staff, nice simple restaurant and garden and a beautiful location
Beautiful location in Snowdonia national park. Location on serene lake in Llanberis and sits under Mt. Snowdon.
Excellent location in Llanberis - short walk to village. Free parking with excellent, informative host.
Janice and Michael we're exceptionally good hosts. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and a very comfy bed. The Welsh cakes were lovely and a lovely thought. Also loads of breakfast tea coffee to help yourself to which is a lovely touch. Close to get to loads of locations
