Communication from the host was excellent and extremely helpful. The value you get for the property is excellent and the cottage has some really nice touches (for example fresh orange juice in the fridge, new loaf of bread, tea and coffee, bathrobes and slippers on the bed). Excellent cottage and worked perfectly for our stay for a wedding near by.

Beautiful clean room with all the facilities, it did get a bit hot and noise from motorway didn't make opening the window an option. Bed a bit hard but this is a personal preference.

On a busy main route to/from Scotland, Longtown would be a good stopover. Beautiful Cumbrian countryside on its doorstep. Nice walk around the Longtown ponds or along the river. Not much choice for evening meal, but the Graham Arms serves good food at a reasonable price.

It's a quiet base handy for going out and about we visited hadrian's wall, Aria falls in the lake district and shopping trips to Carlisle and Gretna. Easy access to Dumfries too we just didn't go. Not too much in Longtown it's self, that we saw.

We only stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding, but what we saw of Longtown looked fine to us. Enough shops for necessities and the fuel at the petrol station is much cheaper than at home, which is a pleasant surprise

Longtown was quite a nice town with a couple of pubs and a cafe plus everything else you would need. The chip shop and cafe shut to early though in my opinion. Liked walking down by the River Esk on the mornings and evenings when the weather was dry

    Nice quiet village.

Nice quiet village. We stayed at the camelot caravan park and decided on longtown as its in easy reach for various day trips. The Greyson arms pub is very welcoming and friendly and accept dogs (with free treats for our dog as soon as we arrived) food was delicious here too. The esk chippy and spice fusion was good but the classic pizza shop wasn't that great (chips were undercooked, garlic bread was like cardboard). Overall, longtown has everything you need for a few days stay including a spar and petrol station but we used the area as a base to explore Hadrians wall, west coast of Scotland (Gretna, powfoot) and Carlisle.

The Graham Arms is a Hotel and a pub at the centre of the community the Staff are friendly, hardworking and always obliging.I even loved having to wait for the hot water to come through the pipes. After the disastrous and unnecessary COVID lockdowns I'm so pleased that the Graham Arms are still here . We would go back again I'm not sure parking your car in their carpark which is quite restricted but that is not a problem .Also they serve great beer.

A magnificent apartment located in the middle of Longtown. Handy for local pubs, take away shops and a park if you are taking a dog. Its a 5 minute drive into Gretna Green/outlet shops and about 20 mins from Carlisle city centre. Lisa was very helpful before and during the visit. I would highly recommend this property.

Small enough for personal service. WiFi Good selection for breakfast. Comfortable bed. Remote controlled fan, instead of air-con. Room 1 is a generous size, but there are steps into the bathroom. Road got busy with frequent tractors, so I closed the window. Petrol is available within Longtown.
