The corridor to our room had the most disgusting smell, I booked a twin and was given a double I was offered another room but the room smelt of the corridor! They changed the beds in original room, the bathroom was not very clean and had mould around the shower, also the radiator made a noise all the time, I certainly did not expect this standard for the money I paid and was very disappointed.
We visited the Charnwood Museum which was a compact and interesting story of the history of the town and its industry. Also popped to Grace Dieu Prioryfor a lovely walk through woods to view the ruins. The funfair was also in town which made it very bustling at night. Enjoyed a good meal at Peter's Pizzeria.
I liked Loughborough a lot. It seemed a friendly town with plenty of places to eat and drink. I had left the car at home but getting around by public transport was no problem. Possibly my favourite pub was The Phantom (perhaps appropiate as it was Halloween weekend, a lively place and good for food too.
The Property is not really in Loughborough but in the village of Long Whatton, we virtually drove past it on our way to Loughborough therefore had to double back. Pretty little village, very quiet for a stay.
Good place to stay if dropping off student at uni. Good base to get out to Leicester as it has a good rail and road network, without paying high accommodation fees in the city. Has a variety of shops and a market. Nice park with a carillion tower and museum. Grand Union Canal is close by, for a good walk to Barrow on Soar or all the way to Leicester.
Went to a good Indian restaurant on Leicester Road called Salim’s. May be best to park in town and walk to places as one way system can be frustrating as there is not always access to certain roads.
Loughborough
Characterful building, with parking on site (albeit tight), attached to Italian restaurant where we had a good evening meal. Close to the town centre and with a good view of the church. Breakfast was excellent, delicious fresh fruit, well-cooked full English and veggie breakfast. Catered well for my dairy intolerance.

Good location a short walk from Loughborough town centre. Bus stop to Leicester close by. Friendly helpful staff. There is spa and hot tub facilities but I didn’t have time to use these but would love to next visit. Tea anc coffee facilities in room and TV with free view .
Very spacious, clean rooms with a sizable table for work. Eduroam WiFi from Loughborough University was available for late-night reading of scientific papers. Rooms were quiet and had a nice selection of teas/coffee/hot cocoa.
Rooms recently refurbished, very comfortable stay, staff very friendly, good breakfast and had electric car charging points which was part of the reason I booked this hotel originally.
