I’ve been through this town many times on the way to Somerset. So decided to book a weekend there but arriving lunch time just a nightmare to park on Saturday. It’s a shame visitors are not given a special ticket until you can park in the hotel car park
Stunningly beautiful area with the Downs, ancient monuments (Avebury and Silbury Hill etc), The Ridgeway for walks or cycling and the charming town of Marlborough itself and pretty villages … photographers/bird watchers/ramblers and families would all find enjoyment in the area. I’d like to recommend a tea shop in Marlborough called Tea Inc, Kingsbury St…
Lovely town, interesting shops, near to the places we wanted to visit. Great place to use as a base for surrounding area. Loved Stonehenge &Avebury. The only place i would avoid is staying at the king & ball.
Lovely town and plenty of places to eat and drink, We eat at Biteme which was next door to The Kingsbury @ No8 and was really nice and plenty of choice on the sliders and other food. We decided to have a lovely walk which was from the bottom of the town past the college sports area and through fields to the roads and called in a pub for a drink.
Nice range of shops, many not chains. Limited pub choice. I like beer but 3 of the pubs in the High Street are Greene King. There's an Arkells pub that doesn't look very nice, and a very closed Wadworths pub.
We're lucky in England. The country may be overcrowded and the roads are too busy and worn out, but the whole country is stuffed with lovely old towns full of interest and history. Marlborough is a great example. It's a lovely area, and once you get off the A roads the villages and countryside it's quiet. Marlborough has a hugely wide main street/square, the town is full of interest, there is plenty to see in the town itself
Marlborough
A great combination of an old character cottage with a modern and well equipped kitchen and bathrooms with high quality fittings. The staircase is steep and narrow especially to the top bedroom but for us that added to the character of the cottage. Small but cute south facing patio. Great location for Marlborough town centre restaurants and pubs all in easy walking distance and also the wonderful hamlet of Avebury, the Kennet and Avon canal and Savernake forest are all within 15 minutes drive.
Marlborough
The staff were SO friendly and welcoming. The garden was beautiful - fabulous flowers everywhere. We had a vine with bunches of grapes on right outside out bedroom window - they knew we enjoyed a glass of wine 🍷😃 The breakfast was tremendous- beautiful bacon . It was excellent value for Marlborough - £80 per night for two which included breakfast. Fab restaurant right next door.
Marlborough
The B&B was very well located, quiet and yet well connected by road to Marlborough and to other pretty villages, like Pewsey. Sarah was very friendly and the breakfast was exceptionally delicious (those scrambled eggs!). We walked from the B&B through the farm on a lovely walk in the evening and went to the neighbouring pub for dinner.
Marlborough
An inexpensive hotel located in central Marlborough with staff who are very keen to please. We arrived by bike (as many guests do!) and secure bike storage facilities were available. Our first floor rooms (11 and 12) were newly refurbished and very clean. Traffic noise was abated by complimentary ear plugs.
Marlborough
The staff were 10/10 and the service overall was excellent. I stayed in the pub for food both nights, I should have probably gone exploring Marlborough but had two fantastic meals. Definitely eat here if you are staying here! Also liked the coffee / biscuit set up in the room!!
Marlborough
Great location but parking was a pain. 2 hour max stay if you were lucky enough to get a space close to property. Other than that paid parking for max of 2 hours up to 6pm in Marlborough and free up to 8am.
Friendly staff, comfortable room & central location. Nice atmosphere in the bar for a drink before exploring Marlborough. Enjoyed our one night stay, recommend.

A perfect location - the very centre of Marlborough. Old, creaky inn with wonky floors (which I loved). Room was clean and comfortable.
