We were going to the theatre so this hotel is ideally located directly over the road. Everything about this hotel was very good from the check in staff to the bar team on the 14th floor, who supplied a good selection of cocktails.

FAQs about hotels in Milton Keynes

A Hub of Entertainment

Best known for its concrete cows and legendary roundabout system, Milton Keynes is just off the M1 motorway linking Birmingham and London. Its proximity to the latter triggered its development from village to new town in the 1960s.

Milton Keynes Village still exists, between tranquil Ouzel Valley Park and Willen Lake with its peace pagoda and watersports. Next door, Gulliver’s Land children’s theme park is bordered by the Grand Union Canal, whose banks have cycle and footpaths.

In the town centre is the aptly named MK Hub, an entertainment core near the train station. In addition to accommodation, bars and restaurants, it houses the huge Xscape complex, comprising the Airkix Indoor Skydiving centre, cinemas, and the UK’s largest indoor ski slope. Nearby are the shops of Centre: MK and Midsummer Place.

On the town’s outskirts is the National Bowl entertainment venue, and Bletchley Park, where the German Enigma code was cracked during World War II. To the east Woburn Abbey has a large safari park, while north-west is Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing F1 team are based in Milton Keynes, and the MK Dons are the local football team. The Open University is also headquartered here.

Of the many Milton Keynes hotels, apartments and B&Bs on Booking.com, most have parking and some have swimming pools.

Stony Stratford is an historic English town on the edge of the modern City of Milton Keynes, with an attractive high street and a number of traditional English pubs and a variety of other places to eat. A friend and I enjoyed a quiet supper at the Cock Inn, one of the historic pubs in Stony, on the Saturday evening.

We found the hotel, car parking, room & staff to be very good. It is in easy travelling distance for Milton Keynes and Bletchley Park. The breakfast menu is excellent although the evening menu could be improved. We only stayed two days so cannot comment on any activities.

For a 4 night stay whilst attending a convention in the arena was perfect and met my expectations although main meals in the restaurant looked a bit pricey so myself and my family dined at a nearby Harvester

As we live in Milton Keynes I am probably biased, but I believe that it has a lot to offer to people of all ages. MK is more than just a shopping centre, there is so much green space all around, including hidden away villages with good local pubs/restaurants and lovely walks. Also the Grand Union Canal runs through MK and there are many places to eat and drink right on the canal with views across fields and countryside. For great views, open space and walks go to Campbell Park which is right next to the shopping centre and leads to the canal and the canal side pub the Warbler on the Wharf. There is also Linford Manor house with its gardens, lake and local pub, the Nags Head. From the outside, MK appears to be all housing estates and dual carriageways, but there is so much more to discover when you get here.

We have stopped off in Milton Keynes and stayed at a few hotels in the past as travelling back from Gloucestershire or Oxford to visit The Theatre. This time we came up to view a property and stayed at a Holiday Inn Milton Keynes East. Out of all hotels in Milton Keynes we enjoyed staying in this one best. We also loved visiting the shopping centre as it is now thriving (before it was run down a bit) Now it looks amazing and a lovely shopping experience with plenty of places to eat. We were happy to find The Grange Milton Keynes - a fantastic Indian Restaurant with the best curry at affordable prices. Beautiful decor, very clean and pristine and staff lovely and helpful.

Comfortable ground floor room behind a pub in Stony Stratford High Street. Although that street can be lively, my room was quiet and secluded. Location linked to Central Milton Keynes Rail Station and shopping centre by No. 6 bus every 30 minutes until late at night. There is free car parking nearby.

The location is great, the rooms are very clean and feel spacious, even the compact ones. Security and amenities are excellent for a budget hotel, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This wasn’t my first stay, and I will definitely keep coming back for overnight stays in Milton Keynes.
