From the moment we got there, we were made to feel very welcome. Very positive energy and environment. Lovely place to stop even for just a night. Had some lovely conversations with the owners, was lovely to get to know their story a little as well:)

This is a one of a kind luxurious, comfortable, pampered experience. Karen and David are the sweetest, kindest, most courteous people ever! Their years in the hospitality industry shine through but mostly their passion for providing a pampered Scottish experience reigns. The house is beautiful; the room is enormous with an even bigger bathroom with separate shower and tub. The room boasts extravagant furnishings and an even more extravagant view of the Scottish Border hills. We were greeted with cheerful, kind, words and gestures that are unmatched (and we have traveled extensively). Love this place and Moffat but especially Karen and David; they are true gems!

The rooms were perfect. They were just what you think of with an English bed and breakfast. The hosts were fantastic and supplied us with all kinds of goodies even single malt whiskey! Breakfast was super and was everything a full English breakfast should be. I can't recommend this highly enough.

Nostalgic stay as used to spend time there as a child. Lots of lovely shops still, quite a few independents. Good choice of places to stay or have a meal. A good base for days out further afield, walking etc.

Such a lovely traditional Scottish town with great little local and varied businesses. A friendly town for dogs and people. Beautiful countryside on the doorstep with some great dog walking areas on the doorstep. We loved it so much we’d like to move there!

Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and...

Moffat is a good location for exploring the town and surrounding area. Plenty of eating places and wee shops to wander the high street. Walks, cycling, golf and fishing near. Playparks for children. Can get bus to Hamilton or Glasgow or head south. train station nearby goes to Edinburgh. Lots of accommodation options.

It's a pretty country town, once a spa, set in deeply rural Southern Uplands, with good hill-walking a few miles away. There are a variety of shops, mainly local, some touristy. It's a good base for exploring a relatively unfrequented part of Scotland.

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what...

We only had chance for a short walk around the town but what we did see looked good, bars, shops restaurants etc. It was easy to walk into Moffat from the guest house and is within easy reach of main roads leading to other towns.

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of...

Chose Moffat as a mid point stay on our from the East of England to the Isle of Skye and it was a perfect location. Moffat has a good mix of shops and pubs, we ate at the bull which was very nice. The surrounding country side is dramtic and forms a great back drop.

Lovely breakfast in lovely restaurant . Had meal in the evening my wife loved the fillet steak. I had the haddock the batter was very light and crispy cooked to perfection. Only comment if you had mobility issues the upper floor rooms could be a problem. Nice quiet hotel. great parking at the front of the hotel. Easy walking distance to shops in moffat as its on the main street.

Very nicely presented, spacious property. Lovely and clean and really great location for Moffat. Lovely back garden too. Was great that the owners let us stay for one night on our way back to England from Scotland.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a good stop-off when driving from South of England up to the North of Scotland. The free car park is conveniently round the back of the hotel.

We travelled to visit family in Beattock. The cottage is quite rural, but no further from the motorway than a hotel in Moffat and much better value for money.
