Set in Navershaw in the Orkney Islands region, Lindisfarne Self Catering features a patio and sea views. Heaters were plentiful. Kitchen was equipped for us to prepare meals. The host brought a box full of DVDs to us when we wanted to watch a movie and we found several that we liked. We were close to the attractions we wanted to see.
Offering free WiFi and sea views, Harbor Cottage is an accommodations located in Stromness. Lovely, cozy cottage looking over the ferry terminal in Stromness. After four weeks on the road, we loved having a very fully equipped kitchen where we could cook food purchased from the grocery about a block away. We took advantage of the washer and drying rack to winnow down the clothes we brought to Orkney for our 4 day trip, and the machine worked beautifully. From the day before we arrived, our host David made himself available for any questions, problems or concerns. While we never met him in person, our questions were supported through quickly responded emails. We greatly appreciated how comfortable this apartment was for us. We spent our days out visiting sites around the islands and welcomed the comfortable recliner sofas and Netflix equipped television with which to relax in the evenings. This apartment was instrumental to how much we liked our first Orkney visit!
Scapa Breakwater Apartment in Stromness offers accommodations with free WiFi, 5.6 mi from Standing Stones of Stenness, 6.2 mi from Ring of Brogdar and 5.6 mi from Ness of Brogdar. Very clean well equipped flat, well looked after. Great location next to stromness harbour. Good parking nearby that is also free.
Very comfortable house which had everything that we needed. Dog friendly which was wonderful. Friendly host. Ideally situated for getting around the lovely beaches nd walks in Orkney. Very near the town of Stromness and the ferry, but also within easy reach of many interesting places to visit.
kevin and Deborah are great hosts very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. breakfast is great as are the views, handy for most ancient sights. the royal was good for food for a proper evening meal or just a snack. I couldn't fault kevin and Deborah at all will be going back at some point.
Lovely little village, great base for the island and some good little pubs for food. Well worth a slow walk around, quite a lot of history and it's very pretty. The pub right near the ferry park has fantastic food.
Shame we didn't have sat nav as no signs to B&B, which was on road into Stromness and very easy when you knew that. Navershaw a bit deceptive. The Ferry Inn did really nice meals. We went for the archaeology which is amazing. Loved the cafe at Skara Brea especially the Cullen Skink.
We had a lovely w/end away. The couple who run the B+B are very warm & friendly. Breakfast was generous & the room was clean & tidy. We had no complaints & would definitely stay there again!
It's very handy for the stromness ferry, and close enough to town to walk in and out easily. There's a nice little track just north of the main road that's a much more pleasant and safer route into stromness on foot. Plenty of other day walks to places like skara Brae, and a good central location for driving or cycling out to all parts of Orkney. There are three or four restaurants in stromness, all good.
